I think I’m still answering it. I’m absolutely fascinated by this question, because I think I have an answer, and I don’t think it has ever been well answered. Since we’re talking about how things work: How do you want your new album to work for people? You have to take that on board as being one of the things that’s happening in culture and quite different from the story that we’re generally hearing. I don’t think many people take that as seriously as I do.

Former President Donald Trump on Friday sued the House committee investigating the Jan. 6 riot, arguing its subpoena seeking his testimony and documents tied to the Capitol attack was invalid. They also argued that the subpoena failed to advance a valid legislative purpose, claiming that its "purpose is partisan, not legislative — to punish President Trump, and to score political points." The Jan. 6 committee has issued dozens of subpoenas in its probe, and several recipients have mounted unsuccessful legal challenges questioning the legitimacy of the House panel. "President Trump joins Presidents of both parties in insisting that the legislative branch honor the boundaries set forth in the Constitution, instead of catering to base partisan impulses,” Warrington added. NBC News has reached out to the Jan. 6 committee for comment.

It will be difficult for the panel to secure Trump's testimony before then. Trump's lawsuit was filed in the Southern District of Florida and has not yet been assigned to a judge.

The conglomerate, which controls companies in sectors ranging from sugarcane to logistics, lost 202 million reais ($37.70 million) in the July to September period, compared with a 3.26 billion reais profit during the same months last year. During the quarter, Cosan reported cost of debt of 679.3 million reais, a more than 90% spike year-on-year, as Brazil's interest rate peaked at 13.75%, in addition to the issuance of roughly 8 billion reais in commercial notes. Weak figures from Raizen, a joint venture with Shell (SHEL.L) that produces ethanol and sugar, also dented Cosan's bottom line, reflecting consistent price declines for its products. The figure slightly exceeded analyst estimations polled by Refinitiv of 4.08 billion reais. Bradesco's recurring net profit totaled 5.22 billion reais ($1.01 billion), coming in below a Refinitiv consensus estimate of 6.76 billion reais. It now expects to hold provisions in the range of 25.5-27.5 billion reais, as high interest rates have caused a deterioration in asset quality. During the July to September period, Bradesco set aside 7.27 billion reais, more than double the amount compared to a year ago. In September, Brazil's central bank paused an aggressive monetary tightening cycle, leaving its key Selic interest rate at 13.75% after 12 consecutive hikes. Its consolidated loan book grew 13.6% to 878.57 billion reais, mainly driven by credit card transactions, personal and payroll-deductible loans.

The United States wanted to sell Mexico more yellow corn and Mexico declined, Lopez Obrador said in a regular news conference. "There is a market for it, but the government cannot make a purchase because we do not want GM," Lopez Obrador said, citing a lack of scientific investigation into its effects. Lopez Obrador did not specify who made the request to sell more corn, the amount of the requested sale or the time frame. Mexico is ready to halve its U.S. imports of yellow corn when the decree goes into effect and is considering direct agreements with farmers to secure non-GM yellow corn imports, the country's deputy agriculture minister said in October. Chicago Board of Trade corn futures fell on Wednesday after the news, with the benchmark December contract down 6 cents a bushel at a two-month low of $6.61-1/2 a bushel.

Throughout the war in Ukraine, US destroyers have continued "operating with allies and partners in the high north to put pressure on Russia, to make sure that they know that we're there with capable platforms," Gilday added. The British Royal Navy followed suit this spring, sending HMS Prince of Wales into the Arctic for seven weeks — the first Arctic deployment for the UK's new Queen Elizabeth-class carriers. By sending the carrier that far north, the Royal Navy sought "to push the boundaries of UK carrier operations in the cold, harsh environment," the ship's commanding officer said. British Royal NavyHMS Prince of Wales' deployment reflects the British navy's increasing investment in Arctic operations. In 2020, the British navy "recommenced" routine operations in the Arctic, according to the UK's updated Arctic strategy, released in March.

The lockdowns were still in place, and boredom had replaced the initial shock of it all. Thanksgiving was around the corner, but that year the feast would be just for my husband, David, and me plus a neighbor. That year, David arranged our garage so it functioned as an intimate yet socially distanced café for three. As for the menu, I’ve never been a fan of traditional roast turkey—let’s be honest, it’s kind of bland and dry—and for three people, even the smallest turkey wouldn’t make sense. I needed an alternative that was practical but festive enough to bring some much-needed cheer.
JERUSALEM, Nov 3 (Reuters) - Teva Pharmaceutical Industries Ltd (TEVA.TA) will pay up to $523 million to New York State as part of a nationwide settlement of lawsuits alleging the company helped fuel the U.S. opioid epidemic. The settlement with New York adds an additional $300 million to Teva's total opioid payouts. James said the Teva settlement concludes the state's litigation against opioid manufacturers and distributors. Citing "continued foreign exchange headwinds", Teva lowered its 2022 revenue estimate to between $14.8 billion and $15.4 billion from a previously forecast $15 billion to $15.6 billion. Teva expects its two branded drugs, Ajovy to treat migraines and Huntington's disease drug Austedo, to reach a combined $1.4 billion in revenue this year.

This is in addition to AMD's multiyear push around data center, a central reason we like the company's long-term prospects despite our more cautious view on chips stocks at present . Its more recent areas of focus — data center and embedded — are holding up for now while there's weakness in parts of the company's consumer-focused end markets. In the second quarter, data center revenue was $1.5 billion, up 83% compared with 2021. As mentioned, AMD expected data center revenue in its current fourth quarter to exceed the $1.6 billion it generated in the three months ended Sept. 24. Intel's next-gen data center chip, called Sapphire Rapids, has faced delays and is now set to launch next year.

The wheel, fueled by hydraulic and solar energy, collects the vast amounts of waste produced in the capital Panama City with its metro population of around two million people. Installed by environmental group Marea Verde, the wheel is named Wanda Diaz, in part a reference to the Juan Diaz river where it spins. Wanda Diaz launched in late September in a river basin since drenched by heavy rains, which in turn propelled plastic bottles and containers into Wanda's mechanical arms. Over five years, Marea Verde projects have slowed the spread of trash across Panama's rivers and coastlines. "We want to raise awareness that we can prevent the death of this very important river," said Marea Verde head Sandy Watemberg, expressing optimism that the wheel will help.
