CNN —More than a hundred thousand protesters took to the streets of Buenos Aires and other cities in Argentina Tuesday to demand President Javier Milei increase funding for public universities. The University of Buenos Aires (UBA) said in a statement that around 800,000 people took part in the protests in Buenos Aires, while Milei’s government claimed there were 150,000 protesters, according to local media. Milei’s government has defended its decision to freeze the 2023 budget for public universities, announcing increases only in operating expenses, which according to the UBA account for just 15% of spending needs. Students, teachers and political leaders take part in a march against budget cuts to universities in Buenos Aires on April 23. In January, labor unions organized a nationwide general strike against austerity measures and reforms, and thousands took to the streets to protest.

Don't be fooled by Monday's bounce, JPMorgan's Marko Kolanovic warned. The S & P 500 entered the week down more than 5% from an all-time high reached earlier in the year. A correction is generally defined as a 10% drop from a 52-week high. "Market concentration has been very high, and positioning extended, which are typically red flags, at risk of a reversal." "The combination of these macro factors increases the downside risks, and suggests that more Defensive trading should be appropriate," he added.

However, with broader market indicators showing signs of weakness, UNH is starting to reveal cracks — and the once-strong rally appears to be losing steam. The trade setup The trade structure I am using here is called a "bear put spread." Most trading platforms will offer a bear put spread (or long put spread) as a trade type and automatically construct the trade for you. Since the width of our spread is $495– $490 = $5, I can buy the spread for $2.50. How the Senate Voted on Foreign Aid to Ukraine, Israel and TaiwanThe Senate on Tuesday passed the long-stalled $95.3 billion package of aid to Ukraine, Israel and Taiwan, along with legislation that could lead to a ban on TikTok, clearing the measure and sending it to President Biden for his signature. Total Bar chart of total votes Yes 0 0 0 0 Votes needed No 0 0 0 0 Note: Three senators did not vote. The measure includes $60.8 billion for Ukraine; $26.4 billion for Israel and humanitarian aid for civilians in conflict zones, including Gaza; and $8.1 billion for the Indo-Pacific region. It took Mr. Johnson two additional months to figure out a way to steer around his right flank and do so. The TikTok provision was included as part of an effort to sweeten the deal for conservatives.

Tesla recently made new yearly lows with no apparent support level in sight until another 30% lower at the early 2023 bottom of $101.81. We're heading into Q1 earnings this evening plagued with a plethora of negative news headlines clouding this stock. Tesla shareholders, me included, are coming to the realization that consumer appetite for electric vehicles combined with increased competition are significant headwinds for the stock. All that being said, the phrase "it's always darkest before the dawn" usually applies to beaten-down fundamental stories that are approaching technical support. Nvidia has been a cash cow for retail investors lucky enough to buy before the huge AI-fueled rally. Early retail investors told Business Insider their gains have paid for cars, vacations, and dream homes. The stock's steep climb — up over 1,500% since 2019 — has transformed the lives of some of Nvidia's long-term retail investors, resulting in comfier retirements, new cars, and gains worth millions for some. Nvidia shares tumbled by more than 30% in 2018. That sense of security that such a windfall provides was the top theme among the Nvidia investors Business Insider connected with.

Amgen has been in pullback mode since the beginning of February, losing roughly 13% within the context of its long-term uptrend. For those interested in "buying the dip," this may be a good time to revisit the stock, noting the decline looks overdone in the short term. There has been a positive reaction from AMGN to a short-term counter-trend "buy" signal from Tom DeMARK's TD Combo model, which supports a minimum two-week bounce. With Friday's reversal bar on AMGN's daily chart, combined with today's strength, our preferred momentum indicator the daily MACD is back on a "buy" signal. The MACD also shows a positive short-term divergence, supporting a bigger relief rally for AMGN in the near term.

SeongJoon Cho | Bloomberg via Getty ImagesInvestors have been monitoring for potential intervention in the Japanese yen, but recent comments have triggered discussion about "coordinated intervention" with South Korea. The currency has struggled, slipping past 150, since the Bank of Japan raised rates in March. Following that volatility, the U.S. last week acknowledged Japan and South Korea's "serious concerns" over the recent sharp depreciation in their currencies. The comments spurred chatter about possible coordinated currency intervention. Brady said South Korea and Japan could amplify their individual messages to the market by coordinating policy, which might also enhance the short-term impact compared to unilateral action.

All of this is transforming Carrier Global , the nearly 100-year-old manufacturer whose founder, Willis Carrier, invented air conditioning. In a previous interview with Business Insider, he explained one of his main strategies: using the Fibonacci retracement tool to trade on price volatility. He aims to place a stop-limit buy order on a contract slightly above a previous high. It's based on the assumption that when the price begins to rally upward, it attracts more traders to the market and increases price action. ET, a time when market participation can increase for the oil market and create unpredictable conditions, he sold earlier at $79.24. He also avoids trading oil contracts when there are headlines about geopolitical instability or a breakout of war because they create uncertainty.

And now, the U.S. men's national cricket team will represent the home country in this year's International Cricket Council Men's T20 World Cup. While traditional cricket matches can last as long as five days, a T20 match typically lasts around three hours. It was remarkable, given that inflation was elevated and interest rates were at their highest in two decades. “With the job market and economy holding strong, consumers could continue spending on these tours – and there’s certainly still demand,” Liz Anderson, a content strategist at jobs site Appcast, said in a statement to CNN. U.S. crude oil and global benchmark Brent finished out the week about 3% lower, despite the fact that Iran and Israel traded direct strikes against each other's territory for the first time. Fears that oil prices could shoot to $100 a barrel or above did not materialize. The market has essentially erased the risk premium associated with the Iran-Israel tensions after traders bid up prices last week on war fears. "These skirmishes did not impress the oil markets, which believe that no disruption to oil flows will occur." Papic said a sustained war between Israel and Iran is difficult to imagine and may even be practically impossible.

Taylor Swift's new album "The Tortured Poets Department" is almost guaranteed to be a bestseller. But no matter how well it does, it won't be the way Swift earns most of her money this year. In fact, the remaining leg of her Eras tour will add much more to Swift's billion-dollar fortune. Swift's Eras Tour brought in more than $1 billion in ticket sales last year over its 66 dates. Swift's cut is unknown, but based on industry standards, she will surely earn nine figures in 2024 from ticket sales.
