Lawmakers also said Wednesday that they want to at least temporarily suspend a sales tax exemption on equipment offered to data centers. Burt Jones touts as a way to shore up tax revenue so that Georgia could further cut its income tax rate for all residents and businesses. The appeals court has set up a very fast schedule for Donald Trump to appeal their ruling rejecting his claims of immunity from criminal prosecution. The court is giving Trump until February 12 to file an emergency stay request with the Supreme Court, which would stop the clock while his attorneys craft a more substantive appeal on the merits. If he is successful with that, the criminal trial will not resume until after the high court decides what to do with his request for a pause. If Trump does not appeal the ruling, the case would be sent back to the trial-level court in Washington, DC, as soon as next week for his trial to continue. GENEVA (AP) — UBS on Tuesday reported a fourth-quarter pretax loss of more than $750 million as the Swiss banking giant continued to integrate its longtime rival Credit Suisse after a government-orchestrated merger. UBS said it expects to complete the merger of Credit Suisse by the end of the second quarter this year, and the merger of the two banks’ Swiss operations by the end of the third quarter. London CNN —King Charles III has been diagnosed with cancer and has started treatment in London. Specific medical conditions of members of the royal family are rarely divulged publicly. Andrew Parsons/Kensington PalaceQueen Camilla has been undertaking a full program of public duties in recent weeks, with that expected to continue. Now, 11 members of the clan conduct royal duties - more than half of whom are over the age of 70. Under the Regency Act 1937, that would be the next in line to the throne, which is Prince William.
