The chief financial officer of Trump Media and two other corporate insiders sold more than $16 million worth of company stock in the week following the presidential election, according to new disclosures. The sale disposed of all of Swider’s Trump Media shares, the filing indicated. Swider controls a company, Renatus Advisors, that still owns 18,043 shares of Trump Media. Glabe, who is also the company’s secretary, still owns 336,576 restricted stock units in Trump Media after that sale. A Trump Media spokeswoman did not immediately respond to CNBC’s request for comment on the stock sales.

Inflation is drifting down in fits and starts, and so are restaurant menu prices. Diners are more likely to notice stabilizing menu prices at quick-service restaurants than at sit-down ones. But the rate at which all eateries changed their menu prices between the second and third quarters this year plummeted by 26%, the company said. Quick-service restaurants have benefited from slower growth in labor costs, Square found. The company estimates annual inflation faced by quick-service operators at 3.6% as of September, versus 4.3% for restaurants with table service.

The vote is indicative of Asian Americans’ rightward shift toward tougher crime policies like much of the state, analysts say. The blockbuster drugs Ozempic and Wegovy may help people cut back on drinking, new research published Wednesday in JAMA Psychiatry suggests. Just over 28 million adults in the U.S. have alcohol addiction, according to the National Institute on Alcohol Abuse and Alcoholism. Several other studies have examined drinking habits among people taking GLP-1 drugs who do not have alcohol use disorder. Around 75,000 people in the study used some type of medication to treat alcohol use disorder. Price growth ticked higher in October as voters began casting ballots in a presidential election in which economic concerns played a big role. As bitcoin shoots to new heights, some stocks that trade closely with the digital currency could also see their fortunes rise. Called “Amazon Haul,” the mobile-only experience debuted Wednesday in the Amazon app and has everything from fashion accessories to home goods, plus clothes and electronics. Not all county employees are formally eligible for the 32-hour workweek; right now it only applies to the roughly 155 positions represented by the union.

A bipartisan bill to change Social Security benefit rules for pensioners passed in the House of Representatives on Tuesday, with 327 lawmakers voting to support the measure. The proposal — called the Social Security Fairness Act — would repeal rules that reduce Social Security benefits for individuals who receive pension benefits from state or local governments. It would eliminate the windfall elimination provision, or WEP, that reduces Social Security benefits for individuals who worked in jobs where they did not pay Social Security payroll taxes and now receive pension or disability benefits from those employers. About 3% of all Social Security beneficiaries — about 2.1 million people — were affected by the WEP as of December 2023, according to the Congressional Research Service. As of December, about 1% of all Social Security beneficiaries — or 745,679 individuals — were affected by the GPO, according to the Congressional Research Service.
