"These types of events have rarely had any impact on trips, prices, or driver availability, and we expect the same tomorrow," an Uber spokesperson told Business Insider. It's also common for gig workers to have their accounts deactivated without explanation by the companies they work for.

The biggest upcoming football event for many of the N.F.L. owners and business executives who will populate luxury boxes at the Super Bowl this weekend is not, perhaps surprisingly, the game. It actually won’t take place until six weeks later, in Orlando, Fla., when football executives gather for the National Football League’s annual meeting — an event that has particular significance this year. Major League Baseball, the National Basketball Association and the National Hockey League have already relaxed their ownership rules. But the N.F.L.

"It's always tracking real-time employee sentiment, and it's always tracking real-time toxicity," Schumann said of the analytics tool. The investigation found that the store was seriously short staffed, pharmacy phones were not working properly and the AC unit was broken. A follow-up visit by agents revealed that the pharmacy was over a month behind in filling prescriptions, according to the agency’s report. In addition to the fine, regulators also put the 7292 Fulton Drive CVS store on probation for at least three years during which it will be subject to enhanced monitoring. The issues being investigated range from hundreds of prescriptions allegedly being past due, pharmacy staffing shortages, clutter and unsafe working conditions and concerns about maintaining adequate medications safety inside the pharmacy. These concerns led some pharmacists to walk out of CVS and Walgreens stores pharmacies last fall and ignited a national push to unionize pharmacy workers.

CNBC's Jim Cramer on Monday told investors why it's hard to generalize about consumer behavior, saying that as inflation continues, there's a stark divide between cash-strapped consumers and ones that are flush. "High rates may not be helping, but they aren't hurting yet either, right now at least," he said. "In the meantime, we've got a bifurcated consumer in this country, and until you understand that, nothing in this market will make sense at all, let alone the inequality that comes with it." Cramer took McDonald's mixed earnings report as an example of the consumer divide. The fast-food giant's CEO Chris Kempczinski discussed how the low-income consumer cohort is a "battle ground" as many trade down to deal with higher costs.
