Donald Trump has formed 'Trump Organization II' in what NY officials call a move to protect assets. The new company was incorporated on the same day NY's AG sued the Trump Organization for fraud. The AG, Letitia James, is asking a judge to bar Trump from moving assets to the new entity. The court papers ask the judge, New York Supreme Court Justice Arthur Engoron, to immediately appoint an independent monitor to oversee the Trump Organization. The court papers also ask Engoron to allow the attorney general's office to electronically serve Trump with a copy of the lawsuit.

CNN —For the first time, the US Preventive Services Task Force has recommended screening for anxiety in children 8 and older. In its final recommendations, published Tuesday in the medical journal JAMA, the task force also urged screening for depression in children 12 and older, consistent with recommendations from 2016. The members considered recommendations on screening for suicide risk in children and adolescents but said there’s not enough evidence on its harms and benefits. Last month, the task force posted draft recommendations that for the first time said adults under 65 be screened for anxiety. “It is not coincidental that the USPSTF considered evidence for suicide and depression screening in the same updated Evidence Report and Systematic Review,” he wrote.

Vladimir Putin hopes his formal annexation of four regions of Ukraine will help him salvage victory. For Mr. Putin, the so-called annexations let him claim success to reassure an increasingly nervous domestic audience. One can see why Mr. Putin thought this was a good idea. Given how often Mr. Putin has rattled his nuclear saber in recent weeks, this is a dangerous development. More broadly, the annexation is a way for Mr. Putin to assert that he is returning “historic” lands to Russia.

New York CNN Business —With grocery prices soaring, consumers are changing the way they shop for food. “Inflation is hitting everyone.”More consumers are additionally switching over to store brands, also called “private label,” which are often comparable in quality and lower in price. “I don’t think you can underestimate the strength of all these private label offerings,” said Heather Lalley, editor in chief of Winsight Grocery Business, a trade publication. “Now we’re seeing other retailers trying to emulate them.”In September, for example, Kroger (KR) announced a new budget private label brand called Smartway, which consolidates some of its other private label brands under one umbrella. Aldi, for one, is rolling out a new tagline to explain what it’s all about: It’s An Aldi Thing.
Microsoft doesn't disclose revenue for its Azure cloud. Instead, it reports overall cloud revenue. An internal presentation sheds some light on Azure's revenue, a closely guarded Microsoft secret. Microsoft is famously tight-lipped about how much revenue its Azure cloud generates — so much so that even former CEO Steve Ballmer once called for more transparency. Microsoft reported $91.2 billion in "cloud" revenue for its 2022 fiscal year that concluded in June but didn't specify how much Azure contributed to that figure.

Putin cautioned it was no bluff, and Western politicians, diplomats and nuclear weapons experts are divided. Some say he could use one or more smaller, tactical nuclear weapons to try to stave off military defeat, protect his presidency, scare off the West or intimidate Kyiv into capitulation. And those who try to blackmail us with nuclear weapons should know that the weathervane can turn and point towards them," he said. Such blunt Kremlin rhetoric is very different to the much more nuanced nuclear signals preferred by late Soviet leaders after Nikita Khrushchev took the world to the brink of nuclear war in the 1962 Cuban Missile Crisis. Burns, though, said U.S. intelligence had no practical evidence that Putin was moving towards using tactical nuclear weapons imminently.
