Although they had a decent season last year, no one could have predicted the Eagles would become Super Bowl contenders behind an inexperienced quarterback and a second-year head coach. Despite the disappointing end to the season, there were good signs to go off for the 2017 Super Bowl winners. After Thursday's victory over the Texans and setting a franchise-best start to the season, Hurts was in no mood for getting ahead of himself. "I know it's special for the city of Philadelphia," Hurts, who has at least thrown two touchdowns in the last three games, told reporters. After such a start, many are penciling in the Eagles to come out of the NFC conference and challenge in Super Bowl LVII in Arizona.

NFL Black Friday game coming to Amazon in 2023
  + stars: | 2022-10-18 | by ( Jack Stebbins | ) www.cnbc.com   time to read: +1 min
Amazon will stream the first ever Black Friday NFL game in November 2023, the company revealed in a joint announcement with the National Football League on Tuesday. The teams for the Black Friday game will be announced along with the rest of the matchups in next season's NFL schedule. The announcement places the game on the key discount holiday for brick-and-mortar retailers, and the game could drive shopper traffic away from stores and towards Amazon. Even without an NFL game to deal with, Black Friday this year is already expected to underperform past years. That viewership is 48% higher than the viewership of "Thursday Night Football" in 2021, according to Tuesday's release.
New York CNN Business —The NFL is expanding its hold on Thanksgiving weekend and building its relationship with Amazon and the world of live-sports streaming. The creation of a Black Friday game adds to the NFL’s broadcast dominance on the holiday, which annually brings in some of the year’s biggest ratings. In a surprising move, Amazon Prime Video secured exclusive rights to “Thursday Night Football” as part of the NFL’s new 11-year deal with its broadcast partners last year. For Amazon (AMZN), the Black Friday game further solidifies its streaming service as a destination for live sports and strengthens its partnership with the NFL. Prime Video’s opening NFL game, which saw the Kansas City Chiefs edge the Los Angeles Chargers 27 to 24, averaged 13 million viewers, according to Nielsen.

Patrick Mahomes Is the NFL’s Wizard of Comebacks

Patrick Mahomes has trailed by at least seven points in 36 games, including the playoffs. He has gone on to win 24 of them, according to Stats LLC. In the division round of last year’s playoffs, quarterback Josh Allen had just engineered an exhilarating touchdown drive to put the Buffalo Bills up by three with just 13 seconds to go when he learned one of the most painfully common lessons in football these days:There is no amount of time too short, no distance too far, nor any lead too big for Patrick Mahomes to lead a Kansas City Chiefs comeback.
A partnership with Apple would allow the NFL to build a relationship with the deepest-pocketed company in the world. But existing restrictions around Sunday Ticket have slowed negotiations between Apple and the NFL in recent months, according to people familiar with the matter. The NFL and Apple, two of the most powerful corporate entities in the world, are used to getting what they want. "We weren't interested in buying sports rights," Cue said this week at a Paley Center for Media panel in New York. Those deals guarantee exclusivity of local games.
Las Vegas Raiders wide receiver Davante Adams was charged with misdemeanor assault on Wednesday after he shoved a man to the ground on the sidelines, moments following the Raiders' loss to the Kansas City Chiefs. The assault allegation was filed in Kansas City Municipal Court, accusing Adams of pushing photographer Ryan Zebley, thereby "causing whiplash and headache" and a "possible minor concussion," according to a police report. The incident occurred just after the final gun of Kansas City's 30-29 victory over Las Vegas at Arrowhead Stadium. Zebley fell back onto the turf while holding a bulky camera mount and other gear. Adams apologized after the game, but also appeared to cast some responsibility on the man he pushed.

Adams told reporters he apologizes for the shove, but also appeared to cast some responsibility on the man he pushed. The star wideout was traded this past off-season from the Green Bay Packers to Las Vegas, where he was reunited with his college teammate and long-time friend, quarterback Derek Carr.
