Google is in advanced talks to acquire cybersecurity firm Wiz for $23 billion, The Wall Street Journal reported Sunday, citing people familiar with the matter. It had been eyeing an IPO as recently as May, when the company achieved a valuation of $12 billion. Google has made large cyber acquisitions before: The company acquired cybersecurity firm Mandiant for $5.4 billion two years ago. But its reported talks with Wiz would suggest that the company has developed a fresh appetite for M&A, competitive concerns notwithstanding. Google had been in talks to acquire sales software maker Hubspot, CNBC previously reported, but its pursuit had reportedly cooled.

World Views says it sold 1,250 tickets so far while Space Perspective has sold 1,800. Ticket prices range from $50,000 per seat with World View to around $184,000 with Zephalto. The trial of Alec Baldwin took a dramatic turn on Friday when a manila envelope of previously unexamined evidence was brought into the courtroom, prompting the judge to put on blue latex gloves, cut it open with a pair of scissors and then get down from the bench to examine ammunition in the well of the courtroom. It was an unusual scene in a case that has seen dramatic twists and turns for more than two years. Lawyers for Mr. Baldwin, who is on trial for involuntary manslaughter for his role in the fatal shooting of the cinematographer on the set of the film “Rust,” called for the case to be dismissed on Friday, accusing the prosecution of hiding evidence that could help explain how live ammunition wound up on a film set where it was supposed to be banned. “They buried it,” Luke Nikas, a lawyer for Mr. Baldwin, said in court, accusing the prosecution of failing to disclose that it was given a batch of rounds said to be connected to the case when the defense asked to review all the ballistic evidence. “They put it under a different case with a different number.”

However, the technician testified the items were catalogued separately from Baldwin’s case and were not included in the “Rust” case inventory or tested to see if they matched the lethal round. Baldwin’s team argued prosecutors did not properly disclose this evidence to the defense and asked for the case to be dismissed. In response, prosecutor Kari Morrissey said investigators determined the ammunition was not a match to those found on the “Rust” set and had no evidentiary value to the case. The judge has ordered additional witnesses to testify before she renders a ruling on Baldwin’s motion to dismiss the case. At opening statements Wednesday, prosecutors alleged Baldwin was reckless with firearms on set and violated the “cardinal rules of firearm safety” with his actions.
