Gross domestic product (GDP) grew 4.94% annually in the July-September quarter, compared with 5.05% predicted by economists surveyed by Reuters. Growth was 5.17% in the second quarter. OTTAWA, Nov 2 (Reuters) - The Canada Energy Regulator (CER) on Thursday ordered the Trans Mountain oil pipeline expansion project to stop work in a wetland area near Abbotsford, British Columbia, after inspectors found several environmental and safety-related non-compliances. Trans Mountain Corp, the Canadian government-owned corporation building the expansion project, said the order applies to a specific work area of about 800 metres. Work on the oil pipeline expansion project is more than 95% complete, Trans Mountain said. Prime Minister Justin Trudeau's Liberal government bought the pipeline in 2018 to ensure the expansion project went ahead. In 2021, Trans Mountain was ordered to stop work for four months to protect hummingbird nests along a one-kilometer section of its route.

(AP) — A Missouri prosecutor has dropped and refiled the murder case against Pamela Hupp, a killing that inspired a TV miniseries. Lincoln County Prosecuting Attorney Mike Wood charged Hupp with first-degree murder in July 2021, accusing her of killing her friend, Betsy Faria, a decade earlier. The original case had been moved on a change of venue to Springfield, about four hours away from Lincoln County. The Faria case was the subject of an NBC miniseries last year, “The Thing About Pam,” which starred Renee Zellweger. In that case, Hupp staged a fake kidnapping to divert attention from herself in a reinvestigation of the Faria killing, prosecutors said.

X is also planning to bundle video and audio calling for some users, in a push to turn the platform into an everything app. Musk has been exploring several options to extensively monetize the social media platform, which he acquired for $44 billion in October 2022.

Sales at Intel's data center business, which also houses its AI chip division, dropped 10%.

Last year the Polish government introduced a so-called credit vacation to help borrowers deal with higher interest rates in Poland. Bank Millennium, majority owned by Portugal's Millennium bcp (BCP.LS), said it will not propose a dividend for 2023. Bank Millennium posted a third quarter net profit of 103 million zlotys ($24.40 million), reversing a 1 billion zloty loss a year earlier.
