CNN —CSX Transportation announced Tuesday that it had reached a deal with two railroad unions regarding paid sick leave. It also allows members to use up to three personal leave days for sick leave, the two unions said. Eight unions voted to accept the tentative agreement negotiated by the Biden administration with no paid sick leave, while four voted it down. The unions asked for ten paid sick days initially — whittling down their ask to four. The three other major freight railroads — Union Pacific, BNSF and Norfolk Southern — do not currently have paid sick leave in place.

Among the most popular side hustles for 2023 are staffing events like conferences and tutoring in a subject matter where you have expertise, according to experts. You'd have to interact with people if you took them on ― even if only on a one-on-one basis for tutoring. If you happen to be more introverted but are still looking for ways to bring in some extra cash, fear not. Here are four side hustles for introverts to consider. Career experts do draw a distinction between lying and embellishing — but, they say, you shouldn't do either. Either way, nowadays, lying or embellishing is a bad idea, in part because it's so easy to get caught. A colleague could peruse a LinkedIn page and say, "Wait a minute, that's not what we did there," says Bauke.

THE FIRST TIME Racil Chalhoub, 39, a womenswear designer from Beirut, decided to buy men’s clothing, she was standing in a sea of denim at Abercrombie & Fitch in Los Angeles. This was the early aughts—when many women’s jeans were so snug and low-cut that visible thongs were considered a viable accessory. But Ms. Chalhoub craved loose, roomy hip-huggers. “Everything for women was fitted or flared,” she said. Ms. Chalhoub even launched her own women’s tuxedo brand, Racil, in 2015.

As such, "online tutoring is just in huge demand right now, and I think it's just going to continue to grow." If you're considering a side hustle for 2023, tutoring could be the way to go. Online tutoring lets you 'set your own rates'Tutoring and teaching online are already popular side hustles because they "allow you to set your own rates and availability," says Kathy Kristof, founder and editor of SideHusl.com. "With popular courses, teachers can earn exceptionally good rates, ranging from $50 to $100 an hour," says Kristof. Tutors set their own availability and rates, with those teaching popular subjects such as English and history typically making less that those teaching more advanced subjects.
But the process of getting the truck was far from ideal — beset by production delays, missing parts, and unresponsive customer service. There are still a few kinks to be worked out before electric vehicles can dominate the US market — the road to an electrified American auto industry is going to be a bumpy one. For me, the most important driver for buying an electric vehicle was that it feels like a giant step toward a decarbonized future. While electric vehicles can borrow a lot of that institutional knowledge, new technology and business models mean there is still a way to go before everything is smooth sailing. Even without the prodding from the government, car companies have shown a keen interest in shifting their fleets toward electric vehicles for business reasons.

REUTERS/Henry RomeroMEXICO CITY, Oct 16 (Reuters) - Mariachi bands have long been a staple of Mexican culture, and now their lively songs are finding a new use: reawakening the memories of people suffering from Alzheimer's disease. The Mexican Alzheimer's Center is promoting the therapy, hoping the music will stir up recollections of times past among patients with the degenerative illness, encouraging them to sing or even dance to familiar old tunes. Originally developed in Germany 11 years ago, the therapy was given a mariachi twist to adapt it for Mexican use. Camacho, who has had Alzheimer's for five years, is one of an estimated 1.8 million people with dementia in Mexico. Since Camacho began the mariachi therapy, Maria del Rocio said her mother had become livelier, and taken up a more active role in family life again.

He highlights 24 different distinctive dialects. These aren't just accents, but genuinely distinct ways of speaking beyond just the way words sound. Some original Hudson Valley words are stoop (small porch) and teeter-totter. The name comes either from the Gola tribe in Liberia or the Ngola tribe in Angola.
