Before the cage match offer, Elon Musk and Mark Zuckerberg privately grumbled about each other, WSJ reported. Tensions between Elon Musk and Mark Zuckerberg appear to have been simmering for quite some time — long before the two indicated they might be ready to settle their differences in a cage match. The Tesla CEO was named as Time's Person of the Year in 2021 and has received wide recognition for running five different companies, including Tesla and SpaceX. The Meta CEO was quick to respond to Musk's taunt, telling him "Send me location." Meanwhile, a spokesperson for Meta told The Verge that Zuckerberg is serious about the offer to fight.

New York CNN —Market euphoria in early June, spurred on by a pause in interest rate hikes by the Federal Reserve, is well behind us now. What’s happening: It’s been just over a week since the Federal Reserve paused its 14-month regimen of interest rate hikes to fight inflation. The Bank of England, meanwhile, surprised investors by raising interest rates in the UK by an outsized half of a percentage point. Central banks had been making smaller interest rate moves as inflation began to ease off of recent highs. Elsewhere in Europe, central banks in Norway and Switzerland also hiked rates to decade-high levels on Thursday.

Twitter owner and Tesla (TSLA) CEO Musk recently tweeted that he would be “up for a cage fight” with Zuckerberg, the CEO of Meta. A spokesperson for the company told Verge: “The [Instagram] story speaks for itself.”It remains unclear whether Zuckerberg and Musk are serious or having a laugh. Quite who would win in a cage fight, however, remains to be seen. Musk is physically bigger than Zuckerberg, but the Meta chief practices jiu-jitsu, the Brazilian martial art, and won gold and silver in a tournament in May.

In recent days, Twitter owner Musk and Facebook parent Meta (META.O) CEO Zuckerberg - whose social media platforms duke it out daily for advertising dollars - have been trading bluster about going mano a mano. The brouhaha began Tuesday when Musk tweeted he was "up for a cage match" with Zuckerberg, who's trained in jiujitsu. “Vegas Octagon,” Musk tweeted, referring to an events center where mixed martial arts (MMA) championship bouts are held. Musk in recent months has stepped up criticism of Zuckerberg and his companies, and has mocked reported plans by Meta for a platform to rival Twitter. SportsBetting.ag gives better odds for Zuckerberg, who is 12 years younger than Musk.

Maye Musk said her son should "fight with words only" after he challenged Mark Zuckerberg to fight. Elon Musk's mother, Maye Musk, appeared to caution her son against a cage match with Mark Zuckerberg on Twitter Thursday. It's unclear whether Musk was joking about the offer to fight the Meta CEO in a cage match. Musk's offer to fight Zuckerberg comes after the Twitter owner has repeatedly criticized Zuckerberg on social media. Maye Musk's concern is not misplaced.

Elon Musk wants to fight Mark Zuckerberg in a cage. Zuckerberg is training in MMA and winning jiu-jitsu competitions. But really, fighting Mark Zuckerberg in a cage is a bad, bad idea. The Twitter owner and world's richest man challenged his arch-nemesis to a cage fight on Tuesday because, well, it's hard to say why really. He's training in MMA, winning jiu-jitsu competitions, and generally getting seriously shredded.

Two-division champion Henry Cejudo, 36, will face Aljamain Sterling at UFC 288 in New Jersey’s Prudential Center for the bantamweight title on Saturday. Cejudo (16-2) left the sport in May 2020 after UFC 249, announcing his decision on the night he beat Dominick Cruz to defend his bantamweight title. A 2008 Olympic wrestling champion, Cejudo successfully transitioned to MMA, becoming a UFC flyweight champion 10 years later before taking the bantamweight title in 2019 to become only the fourth fighter in UFC history to simultaneously hold two belts. “These are the challenges that I like, that’s the stuff that really wakes me up in the morning. In Friday’s weigh-in, the pair got into a heated exchange and Sterling has said that he thrives in the chaos.

Home base planFor the baseball fan looking to watch as many games as possible, a traditional pay TV service is still the go-to place. Discovery' s TBS, as well as Fox Corp. 's broadcast and pay TV networks, take up a decent chunk of the schedule. However, as more options are introduced, regional sports networks are getting fewer games and fans have to pay more to watch all games. With a higher rate of consumers dropping pay TV bundles and opting for streaming services, many networks have created direct-to-consumer streaming app options. Few offset the pay TV losses, but at least provide an option for fans wanting to stream.

"I'm ready to dominate, but if I don't dominate and the fight goes five rounds, I'm ready to press forward, I'm ready for a dog fight,” Jones told a media conference ahead of his return at the T-Mobile Arena on Saturday night. "I'm ready to bleed and sweat and leave my heart out there. I'm ready for however it goes. Australia's featherweight champ Alexander Volkanovski was unsuccessful in his recent bid to add the lightweight crown, but Jones is looking beyond him and all others. "He (Volkanovski) is refreshing, he speaks well, his country loves him, he represents the sport well," Jones said when the comparison was put to him.
Military officials say that until they are able to recover the debris, they are unlikely to know for sure what the objects were. Scientists use balloons to study wind patterns, air quality, and other aspects of Earth's atmosphere. STILL UNEXPLAINEDThe object downed over Canada on Saturday was described by Canada's defense minister as resembling a balloon. Senator Marco Rubio, leaving a classified briefing on the objects on Tuesday, told reporters that they are no different than the hundreds of benign objects cited in past intelligence reports. "We've never shot down anything in over 65 years of NORAD, and in one week they shot down three things," he said.

Officials declined to say whether it resembled the large white Chinese balloon that was shot down earlier this month, though U.S. Air Force General Glen VanHerck is not ruling out aliens. Markets have kept an eye on the geopolitical mystery, but more focus is on whether U.S. inflation is earthbound or stubbornly hovering. Economists expect Tuesday data to show monthly rates ticked up in January, but the annual measures declined. Revised figures on Friday showed that inflation in December was a little stronger than originally reported, and a closely-watched consumer inflation expectations survey showed a notable spike in the short-term outlook.
