Smart glasses, many with components made in China, are emerging as an up-and-coming category as the fall consumer technology product season gets underway. Snap has revealed augmented reality glasses ; Meta is expected to do so at its own event starting Sept. 25. The Facebook-parent's Ray-Ban Meta Smart Glasses are already seeing traction, HSBC's Frank He, head of technology hardware research for mainland Chinese stocks, pointed out in a report earlier this month. The roughly $300 Ray-Ban Meta smart glasses allow users to take pictures, short video clips, listen to music and interact with Meta's AI features, according to promotional materials. For the year through July, the optical company's non-smartphone camera module shipments surged about 61%, which HSBC attributes to "brisk sales" of Ray-Ban Meta Smart Glasses.

It is true in the South China Sea, the East China Sea, South China, South Asia and the Taiwan Strait,” Biden continued. “But I think China’s recent maritime aggression could be changing the equation for India and could be prompting India to become a bit more open to the idea of Quad security cooperation,” she said. Though Hezbollah “suffered a major blow,” a “reckoning will come,” he added, and vowed the attacks would not bring the group down. The Hezbollah chief also warned Israel that fighting on the Lebanese front will not stop until hostilities end in Gaza. Hours later, Israel launched a barrage of strikes in Lebanon, saying it hit about 100 Hezbollah rocket launchers and “terrorist infrastructure sites.”Meanwhile, Hezbollah said it launched at least 17 attacks on military sites in northern Israel. This photograph taken on April 6, 2022, shows a general view of the National Thermal Power Corporation (NTPC) plant in Dadri. The mounds of jet-black coal shimmering under the afternoon sun at the Dadri power plant are a raw illustration of India's coal dependence -- a habit that despite increasing pressure, the country is finding hard to kick. India's NTPC Green Energy filed draft papers for a 100 billion rupees ($1.19 billion) initial public offering on Wednesday, as it looks to cash in on the country's renewables expansion plans and a red-hot equities market. The company, a unit of state-owned power producer NTPC , will only issue new shares, and existing shareholders will not sell any stake, the draft papers showed. So far this year, about 235 companies have gone public and raised more than $8.6 billion, which exceeds the total amount raised last year.

SRINAGAR, India — Voters lined up outside polling stations in India’s Jammu and Kashmir on Wednesday to vote in the first provincial election being held in a decade in the Himalayan region that has grappled with years of militant violence. Jammu and Kashmir is India’s only Muslim-majority territory and has been at the center of a dispute with neighboring Pakistan since 1947. Until 2019, Indian-ruled Jammu and Kashmir had a special status of partial autonomy that was revoked by Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s government. Modi’s Bharatiya Janata Party-led (BJP) government has said that revoking the region’s special status restored normalcy in the area and helped its development. The contest this time is between regional parties promising to restore the special status, India’s main opposition Congress party which has allied with a prominent regional group, as well as the BJP, which is pitching development and a permanent end to militancy.
