The task force gives its guidelines letter grades based on the most up-to-date science. Under the Affordable Care Act, private insurers must cover preventive services that get a grade of A or B; the new child obesity recommendations got a B grade.

Thank goodness for urgent care centers. We found an urgent care at the end of a strip mall in Chicago, and 20 minutes later we received the good news that there was only a sprain. When I inquired about the bill, I was told that the center was hospital-affiliated and as such, is allowed to charge hospital prices. It turns out that I’d stumbled into a lucrative corner of the health care market called hospital outpatient departments, or HOPDs. They do some of the same outpatient care — colonoscopies, X-rays, medication injections — just as doctors’ offices and clinics do.

Some areas could endure the longest heat wave they’ve seen in decades, the National Weather Service’s Weather Prediction Center said. Tens of millions of people who aren’t used to heat this intense will be sweating in temperatures well into the 90s this week. Through the rest of the week, the most extreme heat risk is in place from the Great Lakes into the Northeast, according to the National Weather Service. Humidity will also join forces with extreme heat to create triple-digit heat indices – measurements of how hot the human body feels – in some areas. Chicago residents could feel heat indices between 95 and 105 degrees through next week, the NWS in Chicago warned.

An early bet on artificial intelligence thanks to a simple investment framework is helping the T. Rowe Price's Global Technology Fund (PRGTX) outperform the market for a second straight year. "Our framework led us to be early to this AI trend, [and] led us to be early to the chip intensity of this AI trend." That's due in part to its winning bets in AI names and semiconductor stocks – many of which have outperformed the S & P 500 and Nasdaq Composite . In the South, The Lipstick Lounge, Tennessee’s only bar registered with the Lesbian Bar Project, is in Nashville’s hip East End neighborhood. By the end of Burton’s trip, she found that the narrative of “dying lesbian bars” was maybe not totally accurate. “Sometimes it’s a physical shift from a lesbian bar to a bar that sometimes holds … queer or lesbian nights,” Burton said.
