The S & P 500 has been higher two weeks later all five times. The S & P 500 popped 1.1% on the day of the release. If this happens, it could finally infect the S & P 500, however. The first clue would be seeing the S & P 500 down two weeks after a CPI report. Ultimately, the S & P 500 can pull back to the 4,800 zone and remain above the breakout zone.

Shares of Alphabet are on the verge of a possible breakout ahead of the company's three-day Google Cloud Next conference in Las Vegas, where artificial intelligence will be a major theme. Shortly after the trade, Alphabet shares ran into a brick wall after some advertising weakness surfaced in fourth-quarter results and was followed by a controversy over Gemini's image generator that caused the company to pull the tool. The conference is expected to show that "Google is not being left behind, not being troubled by Search," Jim said. That said, we expect Tuesday's AI conversation to be limited to how it relates to Google Cloud. "A fundamentally overbuilt real estate industry needs to be addressed — and quickly," he said in the report, which counts Changchun Hua, KKR's chief economist for Greater China, among the co-authors. Real estate and related sectors once accounted for about one fifth or more of China's economy, depending on the breadth of analysts' calculations. Based on comparisons to housing corrections in the U.S., Japan and Spain, China's "housing market correction may be just halfway complete" in terms of its depth, the KKR report said. watch nowWhile KKR's report didn't provide much detail on expectations for specific real estate policy, the authors said more action by Beijing to improve China's real estate sector "could materially shift investor perception." We've seen a noticeable uptick in volume and interest in Estee Lauder (EL) , after struggling significantly for the last two years to formulate a turnaround. Has the global makeup giant finally bottomed and proven that its business is investable again? But following more than a year of erratic behavior from Cathie Wood's flagship vehicle, the ARK Innovation Fund appears to be forming a basing pattern that could herald a breakout ahead. Bullish pattern developing However, the ETF deserves our attention from a technical perspective since it could be getting closer to breaking out of a two-year basing pattern. And as the chart shows, this has prompted a second bullish formation to be constructed – a big cup and handle pattern. If a breakout through the two-year base does occur, the odds suggest that it will get traders' attention once again. If nothing else, it's important to understand what you're investing in, especially a very active ETF like ARKK.

That's not to say predictions of a commercial real estate rebound are a sure bet. Here are four signs that support Gray's prediction that the commercial real estate market may be bottoming. (New York Community Bank had previously purchased $2.7 billion in Signature's loans and deposits, but not the real estate loans.) According to David Seifert, partner at private equity real estate firm Velocis, there are some sweet deals to be had in secondary sales of private-equity funds tied to real estate. On the eve of the Federal Reserve's two-day policy meeting, Wall Street forecaster Jim Bianco believes the central bank will likely stay on hold until next year. For Fed Chair Jerome Powell to cut this spring, the economy would have to dramatically weaken, according to Bianco. This week's Fed meeting comes almost exactly two years after policymakers started their rate hike campaign. It appears Wall Street may be on notice. In January, Bianco told "Fast Money" the 10-year yield would hit 5.5% this year.

But despite the struggles of the largest stocks in the sector, Block (SQ) appears to breaking above a key resistance level. The key with a head and shoulders pattern is to wait for the "trigger", which is when the price actually breaks through the neckline. Here we can see that the recent breakout above the neckline was preceded by a price gap higher in February. Immediately after the price gap, SQ dropped down to around $75, a level which was retested again in early March. With inverted head and shoulders breakout on the weekly chart, and clearly defined risk levels on the daily chart, Block may just be worth investors' attention.

Let's analyze how to trade a drug stock that's made a terrific comeback and could have more upside from here. But there's a catch: The price of call options have become too expensive given the rally, so we need to think of lower-cost trade to bet on upside from here. Now that it's traded off those lows and started to outperform the markets, I have a follow-up trade. The trade Options on BMY currently are very expensive, so buying calls are out of the question. In short, the rent is too damn high — and it’s keeping inflation and interest rates elevated alongside it. We’ll see if they’re right on Tuesday morning when February’s CPI data is due out. “Shelter inflation has been a big focal point for the market,” they wrote in a note on Monday. “We remain confident that [rent prices] will flatline in 2024, rather than fall,” Capital Economics analyst Thomas Ryan wrote in a recent note. That means a current deceleration in rent prices won’t be fully factored into inflation data until February 2025.

Gas prices have surged to four-month highs. Don’t panic

A gas price spike might be the last thing President Joe Biden needs to convince skeptical voters about his economic agenda. But experts say there is no reason to panic about gas prices, at least not yet. Gas prices always rise at this time of the year. Of course, there’s always the potential for unexpected events that could spike gas prices. If anything, De Haan said the earlier-than-expected jump in gas prices this year could cause prices to peak sooner than usual.

The reason is, in Lowe's at least, moves of those magnitudes the week of earnings are quite infrequent.
