Rome CNN —Italy’s Ministry of Health has banned the popular wellness trend of “puppy yoga” amid concerns that the puppies used in the practice could be exploited and mistreated. Typically, sessions involve puppies roaming around a yoga class and sometimes being incorporated in poses. CNN reached out to several Italian puppy yoga centers for comment with no success. The ruling does not have a legal arena for appeal, a spokesperson for Italy’s health ministry said. Elisa Allen, vice president of programs and operations at People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA) UK, commended Italy for banning puppy yoga in a statement to CNN Friday.

Shares of popular athleisure brand Lululemon have plummeted this year, trailing the S & P 500 significantly. Its shares, which were included in the Wall Street index just last October, are down around 28% year-to-date. Dwyer also pointed out that Lululemon is unlikely to be exposed to any geopolitical risks surrounding China. "Millennials represent around a third to 40% in China and then Gen Z are a much bigger share of the demographic - they are fans of this brand," Dwyer. According to FactSet, Lululemon has a buy rating of 69% and analysts covering the stock give it 28.1% potential upside from the average price target.

From pregnancy to birth to postpartum, there are many significant differences between the countries when it comes to having a baby. Midwives in Germany undergo extensive training and also lead most births, whether at a hospital, birth center, or home birth. I had so many pain relief optionsAt both hospitals and birth centers, Germany offers quite an array of pain relief options. My insurance covered prenatal and postpartum classesSomething really helpful for expecting parents in Germany is the fact that many prenatal and postpartum classes are covered partially or fully by health insurance. Last but not least, I loved that my insurance covered most of the costs for a postpartum pelvic floor exercise course called "ruckbildungskurs."

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle seem like lovely people. Netflix dropped "Pearl," an animated children's series Meghan created through her and Harry's production company, Archewell Productions, before it even premiered. The audio-streaming company signed a deal with Harry and Meghan in 2020 reportedly worth $20 million. As Michael Pachter, a managing director at Wedbush Securities who's covered movies, entertainment, and tech for two decades, explained, it's because they've still got that $100 million deal. Why stretching isn’t always a cure-all for pain
  + stars: | 2024-04-16 | by ( Dana Santas | ) edition.cnn.com   time to read: +9 min
And since stretching is often touted as a cure-all for pain, I have seen too many individuals get caught in an unhealthy, painful cycle in which they stretch even more to relieve the tension and pain that they are unwittingly increasing with their continued stretching. When stretching isn’t the answerBefore using stretching as a quick fix for muscle tension, it’s important to ask yourself why you feel tight in the first place so you can determine if stretching isn’t advisable. PeopleImages/iStockphoto/Getty ImagesWhen muscles feel tense, the standard assumption is that they are short and tight, making stretching a logical solution. As an example, let’s look at a common issue I encounter in my clients as a mobility coach: tight hamstrings. For instance, if you’re experiencing low back pain related to tension, a combination of stretching and strengthening would yield best results.

The shopping area’s early development in the 1970s made it one of Australia’s largest development projects. An array of small businesses, including cafes and yoga studios, have sprung up in the area, making it an attractive meeting ground. CNN —Flame retardants added for decades to thousands of consumer products in the United States may raise the risk of dying from cancer, according to new research. “The new study links PBDEs to deaths from cancer, building a case for the association between flame retardants and cancer mortality being real,” said Trasande, who researches the impact of plastics, flame retardants and other chemicals on children. Flame retardant chemicals also can pass to developing fetuses via the placenta and to newborns through breast milk, past research has found. In some cases, the industry has replaced these chemicals with newer phosphorus-based flame retardants, Trasande said, adding that researchers are now concerned these chemicals may be linked to cancer as well. When reupholstering older couches or chairs, be sure to replace the old foam with flame retardant-free foam.
