That's the picture Temo cofounder Justine Perussel paints when describing her company's electric motor technology. Founded in 2018 in Vannes, France, Temo just raised 6 million euros, around $6.5 million, to make electric alternatives to combustion engines for small boats such as dinghies, sailboats, and rowing boats. "The electric motor market is moving very fast – it's booming," Perussel said. Small crafts are typically used to get to and from larger sailing boats or are rented for recreational use on lakes, Perussel said.

MEXICO (AP) — The company run by Mexican TV, retail and banking magnate Ricardo Salinas Pliego said Tuesday it had failed to reach agreement with bondholders in the United States who are owed tens of millions of dollars in past-due payments. Salinas Pliego's TV Azteca company issued a statement Tuesday saying it needed a restructuring of bonds that come due in 2024 because business was so bad. According to the company statement, the bondholders wanted $105 million paid when a deal was reached, in exchange for a restructuring that would grant a six-year extension to 2030 on full repayment. Jeff Bezos announced he is moving from Seattle to Miami, in part to be close to his parents. Moving from Washington state to Florida could save Bezos a yachtload in taxes. Now, he's off to Miami where there's no capital gains tax and zero state income tax. They don't worry too much about income tax, but they do focus a lot on capital gains tax. Those holdings will probably be exposed to capital gains tax, too.

MEXICO CITY (AP) — Officials in Mexico said Monday that three foreign residents were among at least 45 people killed when Hurricane Otis hit the resort city of Acapulco last week. Meanwhile, the Navy said the search effort will now focus on finding possible bodies among the 29 boats known to have sunk in Acapulco Bay the night the hurricane hit. The government reported Sunday that at least 48 people died when Category 5 Hurricane Otis slammed into Mexico’s southern Pacific coast, most of them in Acapulco. In Acapulco, families held funerals for the dead on Sunday and continued the search for essentials while government workers and volunteers cleared streets clogged with muck and debris left by the hurricane. “There are many, many people here at the (morgue) that are entire families; families of six, families of four, even eight people,” she said.
