The National Weather Service issued winter storm, blizzard and high-wind advisories for large parts of the western and north-central United States. The agency said these areas will also be under a winter storm warning until Friday and advised people against traveling. Although the snow storm could wreak havoc on daily life, it was welcomed by skiers.

That's when the 69-year-old test pilot found a residential airpark at the Pine Mountain Lake Airport. There are about 90 homes with hangars that have deeded access to use the taxiways and runway at the Tuolumne County airport in the residential airpark. As a test pilot, Sobczak works primarily out of the San Francisco International Airport (SFO). Because the Tuolumne County airport has no control tower, residents of the airpark use a common traffic advisory frequency so pilots can broadcast their position and intended flight path. Part of Sobczak's deed includes access to the Tuolumne County airport.

A United Airlines flight plummeted to just 800 feet above the Pacific Ocean late last year, data shows. The incident occurred the same day 25 people were injured from extreme turbulence on a Hawaiian Airlines flight. United Airlines said in a statement that after the pilots landed the plane at San Francisco International Airport, they filed "the appropriate safety report." The incident came on the same day that a Hawaiian Airlines flight from Phoenix to Hawaii experienced extreme turbulence that injured dozens of people. According to the Hawaiian Airlines pilot, a cloud suddenly "shot up," causing severe turbulence.

Passengers "were in a panic" after being sent images of plane crashes, per Keshet 12. 10 people were taken off the Pegasus Airlines flight in Tel Aviv for questioning. Passengers on another Pegasus flight in November were sent threatening videos. Last May, nine Israeli citizens were detained after passengers on a plane bound for Turkey received graphic photographs of former plane crashes via AirDrop. Last November, another Pegasus flight from Tel Aviv was delayed after passengers were sent threatening videos, including one of a man practicing at a shooting range, according to Ynet.

The incident occurred aboard Singapore Airlines flight SQ33, which departed for its 16-hour journey from the San Francisco International Airport on Monday at 10.05 p.m. Pacific Time. Flight tracking site FlightRadar24 mapped the loops that Singapore Airlines flight SQ33 took after a false bomb threat was made on board the plane. CNN Business —Workers who provide food and drinks to travelers at San Francisco International Airport are on strike, seeking what they say would be their first raise in four years. The 1,000 strikers are members of Unite Here Local 2, a Bay Area union with 15,000 members. The airport workers work under a multi-employer joint labor agreement that covers 30 different employers spread among 84 different locations at the airport. Airport management, which is not a party to the talks, issued a statement apologizing to passengers for any inconvenience. There is now a higher minimum wage of $19.15 an hour for jobs on city-owned properties, which includes the airport, but these union workers are still under the 2018 contract.

Roughly 1,000 fast food workers at San Francisco International Airport are striking, saying they are experiencing stagnant wages and chronic understaffing. Most fast food workers at the airport make $17.05 an hour, which has remained flat for three years, the union said. The SFO Airport Restaurant Employer Council, which manages the 84 restaurants for the airport, did not immediately respond to Insider's request for comment. Airport food and drinks have grown more expensive, which could lead to further disparity in menu prices compared to wages, as in the case of the San Francisco workers. The SFO strike is open-ended, meaning there is no planned end date.
