A video on social media, shared by a Belarussian journalist, shows Russian to-be soldiers engaging in a drunken brawl. The over-consumption of alcohol by Russian soldiers has been an issue since the beginning of the invasion. An intelligence report from Britain's defense ministry said "The impact of Russia's manpower challenge has become increasingly severe." The video, shot in the Yuzhno-Kurilsk region in the Sakhalin Oblast, shows men slamming into each other, throwing slurred punches, and shouting. Poor morale among Russian soldiers is often attributed to issues of alcohol over-consumption and infighting.

Negotiations will be complex, however, not least because China is not expected to need additional gas supply until after 2030, industry experts said.
