It's unlikely Republicans would join Democrats to vote to convict Trump who's mulled a 2024 run. But the Constitution allows the Senate to bar an official that lawmakers have convicted in an impeachment trial from holding federal office again. It's also not certain if enough Republicans will vote to convict Trump and trigger the vote to ban him from holding public office again. It's not impossible, but the odds of 67 senators voting to convict Trump are long. Jolly at the time said the House need not worry about what the Senate would do with the impeachment vote.
The senator this year has bought or sold these companies' stock shares, according to an Insider analysis of federal records. The senator's stock trades have become a highly politicized issue, with Ossoff and Democratic allies spending millions of dollars on ads highlighting the controversy. Perdue sold hundreds of thousands of dollars worth of these companies' stock shares during 2020, an Insider analysis of Senate stock trade disclosure records indicates. The Perdue campaign and the fundraiser coordinator, Alice Perry of The Elevated Group, did not return several requests for comment. The Ossoff campaign declined to comment.
Donald Trump will no longer be president on January 20, but don't expect him to disappear into the night. He will continue to be a dominant force in Republican politics that President-elect Joe Biden will have to tangle with. But Biden will also have to contend with other figures such as Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell and the nation's Republican governors. Here are the 16 Republican power centers the Democrat and his team will have to either work or fight with — or both — once they take office next year. Here are the 16 most influential conservative power centers Biden could work with — or be forced to overcome — to enact his agenda.

Mike Pence: My Last Days With Donald Trump

Thirteen days after the 2020 election, I had lunch with President Trump. Then he could run for president in 2024 and win. He seemed unmoved, even weary: “I don’t know, 2024 is so far off.”In a Dec. 5 call, the president for the first time mentioned challenging the election results in Congress. To my knowledge, it was the first time anyone implied I might be able to change the outcome. During a December cabinet meeting, President Trump told me the ad “looked bad for you.” I replied that it wasn’t true: I had fully supported the legal challenges to the election and would continue to do so.

To win a victory, Maia Sandu needs votes of Usatyi’s sympathizers, commentatorIf the voter turnout in the presidential runoff exceeds 50%, the chances of winning of the PAS’ candidate Maia Sandu will be rather big. In 2016, Renato Usatyi announced his support for Igor Dodon and his sympathizers then voted for Igor Dodon. The current campaign was yet anti-Dodon and the voters of Usatyi could migrate to Maia Sandu in opposition to Igor Dodon, not necessarily in support of Maia Sandu. Respectively, it was normal for them to state their support for Maia Sandu for the runoff. In the November 1 presidential elections, Maia Sandu won 36.16% of the vote, while Igor Dodon – 32.61%.

Runoffs and candidates’ wish to dissolve Parliament

Runoffs and candidates’ wish to dissolve ParliamentIn the runoffs, a major and serious impact will be produced by the debates involving Igor Dodon and Maia Sandu. If Maia Sandu is elected President, most probably she will want to have a majority in Parliament. If Igor Dodon keeps office, Aurelian Lavric anticipates this will not make effort to dissolve Parliament as he does not need this. However, a political crisis is imminent under practically any scenario and this can only be smaller or larger, especially if Maia Sandu is elected President. Both of the variants are less favorable for Maia Sandu as these are not pro-European pools.
