Through their venture-capital funds, Jeff Bezos and Bill Gates both recently backed the Brooklyn, New York, startup Synchron, which has tested its brain stent in seven humans. Peter Thiel, a billionaire cofounder of PayPal, invested last year in Utah's Blackrock Neurotech, an older BCI startup that has said it hopes to apply for Food and Drug Administration approval soon. That long-term potential has caught the attention of tech billionaires like Musk, Gates, and Bezos. All these tools, Ray and JAX included, are in service to a new generation of combustion engines for the internet called large language models. Multiple companies, both startups and giants, are building their own large language models including Meta, Hugging Face, OpenAI, and Google.
CNN Business —Adidas will begin an investigation into allegations of misconduct against Kanye West, with whom the company had a partnership that it ended in October. In a statement released Thursday, Adidas said “it is currently not clear whether the accusations made in an anonymous letter are true. “I think Adidas felt like cause everyone was ganging up on me that they had the right to just take my designs,” West told a small crowd. In the video, West did not apologize for his antisemitic remarks but seemed to try to distance himself from any “hate group.”“I have no association to any hate group,” West said as he closed his remarks in prayer. In 2016, Adidas expanded its relationship with the rapper, calling it “the most significant partnership ever created between a non-athlete and an athletic brand.”West doesn’t currently have an attorney or publicist representing him in this matter.

The Fed will further raise interest rates to combat inflation, which will increase costs for businesses. Those interest rates also mean that credit card and loan debt will get more expensive. Musk told investors in October that "North America is in pretty good health," but pushed back on the Fed's decision to keep raising interest rates. Citadel CEO Ken Griffin"Everybody likes to forecast recessions, and there will be one," Citadel's billionaire CEO told CNBC in late September, noting that he thinks inflation has peaked.

But sea levels have been rising for 100 years in Baltimore.”ROCKET SCIENCEThe irony is evident at Wallops Flight Facility. Yet this bastion of climate research has been slow to apply the science of sea level rise to its own operations. Reviewers from state and federal agencies criticized the 348-page document for failing to adequately take rising sea levels into account in the project design and impact, or to temper future plans for expansion. Joshua Bundick, Wallops’s environmental planning manager, explained that he distilled the issues “down to only the highest points,” and sea level rise wasn’t among them. The cost to American taxpayers of repeated destruction of the parking lot and causeway from rising sea levels would only increase, Fish and Wildlife officials said.
