Donald Trump on Friday dismissed more questions about whether he would release his current medical records, doubling down on refusing to provide a health update even as Kamala Harris works to sow doubts about his fitness for the presidency. The 78-year-old Republican nominee, when asked if he will release his health records, suggested that he has already shared enough information about his medical status. "Yeah, my health records – I've done five exams over the last four years. Trump told CBS News in August that he would "very gladly" release his medical records, but his campaign has not done so. Vice President Kamala Harris still has a wide lead over former President Donald Trump among Black voters in battleground states, according to a new poll, which shows a key slice of undecided Black voters still poised to make a decision about the presidential election. The findings, from a Howard University Initiative on Public Opinion poll of 981 likely Black voters in battleground states — Arizona, Georgia, Michigan, Nevada, North Carolina, Pennsylvania and Wisconsin — show that 84% of likely Black voters will support Harris in November and 8% say they’ll support Trump. While an overwhelming majority of Black voters overall plan to support Harris, the data shows a small shift among independents from a month ago. Black voters support Harris by large margins across all age groups, but her margin among young voters (63 points) is much smaller than her margin among older voters (82 points). Rachel Yaffe, a 27-year-old TikTok star with a rare form of liver cancer, has died. Per her obituary, Yaffe passed away on Oct. 11, leaving behind her parents, brother and sister. The Food and Drug Administration recently approved a heart stent made specifically for infants and young children, a device that could help kids born with certain congenital heart defects avoid a series of open heart operations over their childhoods. In some cases, those defects are treated with stents, which prop open blood vessels, ensuring that blood can properly flow through them. “You can imagine that is less than ideal — they’re too big.”This means that as the child grows older and their blood vessels get bigger, stents have to be replaced, often with open heart surgery, Zahn said. “It’s not unusual to have kids who are going into middle school who’ve had four or five or even six open heart surgeries,” he said. Patients are usually able to go home about a day later, compared with around seven days for open heart surgery, including some days in the ICU.

As a result, many are using more of their available credit and now, nearly 2 in 5 credit cardholders — 37% — have maxed out or come close to maxing out a credit card since the Federal Reserve began raising rates in March 2022, according to a new report by Bankrate. Other reasons cardholders blame for maxing out a credit card or coming close include a job or income loss, an emergency expense, medical costs and too much discretionary spending. Generation X at riskwatch nowMore than any other generation, Gen Xers in their 40s and 50s are most likely to have maxed out a credit card or come close in the past two and a half years, according to Bankrate's report. Of Gen Xers, 27% have maxed out their credit cards compared to 23% of millennials and 17% of Baby Boomers. Young adults in Gen Z are the least likely to have maxed out a card, according to the survey, which polled more than 3,500 adults, including 3,015 who are credit cardholders and 1,104 who have either maxed out their credit cards or come close.
