Her journey from Everest Base Camp to the top took 14 hours and 31 minutes, then the descent from Everest was another nine hours and 18 minutes. Due to the limited climbing season and challenging conditions on Mount Everest, the window to reach the top of the mountain is small. That record was broken in 2021 by Hong Kong native Ada Tsang in 25 hours and 50 minutes. Currently, the record for fastest ascent by a male climber is 10 hours and 56 minutes, set by Nepali Lhakpa Gelu Sherpa in 2003.

Teachers would pause and stumble on it, and no one knew how to pronounce it (Courtenay rhymes with Fort Lee), spell it, or how many syllables it had (two). People understood right away what I was saying, and I didn't have to spell or repeat it. I'm impressed and touched when someone takes the time to spell my name correctly, and it's made me hyper-aware of spelling others' names right. When I became a parent, I realized that too much screen time was not good for my kids' developing brains. But my oldest, aged 6, kept asking to play video games because all his friends were already doing it. Closed to the public, his series offers a rare inside look into the lucrative global arms industry. Guests, politicians, and traders watch a live demonstration of warfare at the International Defense Exhibition in Abu Dhabi. After the construction and the oil and gas sectors, the global arms trade is one of the most corruption-prone sectors in the world, according to Transparency International. By contrast, the international trade of bananas is more tightly regulated than the arms trade, according to the introductory note of the United Nations Arms Trade Treaty.
