"To be honest, it doesn't matter which round I play because I think Iga is a great player. I think that if I'm going to play my game, aggressive, I'm going to be solid from the beginning till the end." "I'm really looking forward to it. I'm sure he's much better prepared this time," said Greek Tsitsipas, who has not dropped a set in Melbourne this year. Latvian Jelena Ostapenko, another French Open champion, will play last year's Roland Garros runner-up American Coco Gauff.
Student-loan borrowers are facing a year of uncertainty in 2023. Broad student-debt relief is up in the air as the Supreme Court will make a decision on its legality. The other lawsuit was filed by two student-loan borrowers who sued because they did not qualify for the full $20,000 amount of debt relief. Student-loan payment resumptionWhen federal borrowers resume payments is entirely dependent on how the legal challenges play out. Reforms to targeted loan forgiveness programsThe summer of 2023 should bring borrowers some changes to specific student-loan forgiveness programs.
The Dogs of the Dow strategy proved to be a winner in 2022, as investors turned away from growth stocks and looked instead for value companies and dividends. The 2022 list showed a big dispersion in performance. Heading into 2023, growth stocks and the tech-centric Nasdaq have been sliding, suggesting that the outperformance of value stocks may not be over. There are few changes to next year's Dogs list, which is headlined by Verizon . Both of those trades worked really well in 2022, and we think they'll continue to do well in 2023," Simpson said.
Still, it's unclear how these vulnerable coastal communities — and others across the country — will ultimately fare. In this scenario, most of the communities surrounding Jamaica Bay would be inundated every day by high tides. These types of natural projects, some of which are already underway at the Jamaica Bay Wildlife Refuge, would be balanced with the Army Corp's man-made engineered solutions. Additionally, the proposed Jamaica Bay Storm Surge Barrier, located to the east of the Marine Parkway Bridge, would close during major storms. Shoreline restoration is underway at the Jamaica Bay Wildlife Refuge in Queens.

Filmmaker James Cameron said he's discussed a new "Terminator" movie but "nothing's been decided." He said he would want to focus it on artificial intelligence rather than "bad robots gone crazy." Cameron returned to the franchise for the first time since 1991's "Terminator 2: Judgement Day" with 2019's "Terminator: Dark Fate," which he produced and conceived the story for. In 2019, Cameron told Deadline that "Dark Fate" could be the beginning of a new "Terminator" trilogy if it performed well enough at the box office. "If we get fortunate enough to make some money with 'Dark Fate' we know exactly where we can go with the subsequent films."
The crypto industry has been rocked by the collapse of FTX. Big-name investors from Sequoia Capital to SoftBank dumped hundreds of millions of dollars into the company, making bets that are now worthless. Contagion from the debacle is already playing out, with crypto lender BlockFi now seeking bankruptcy protection after revealing lending exposure to FTX and Alameda. "Nothing's too big to fail," says Ian Rogers, chief experience officer of crypto security firm Ledger. Is it time to abandon crypto exchanges, or is there still a place for centralized firms in an industry that prides itself on decentralization?
Ocasio-Cortez joins a number of Democrats who criticized Sinema on Friday over her bombshell decision to leave the party and register as an independent. The Arizona Democratic Party blasted the first-term senator, saying in a statement that her "party registration means nothing if she continues not to listen to her constituents." Sinema's announcement comes after Democrats expanded their Senate majority in the midterm elections, allowing the party to move more quickly on legislation and nominations. Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer and the White House responded to Sinema's decision on Friday by declaring the Senate's new 51-49 power balance remains unchanged. "I believe she's a good and effective Senator and am looking forward to a productive session in the new Democratic majority Senate," Schumer said in a statement.
Ayden Naenna is 17 and works part time as YouTube video editor while in school. This as-told-to essay is based on a conversation with Ayden Naenna, known as Aidden on social media, a 17-year-old YouTube video editor from Santa Clarita, California. I didn't know a lot about video editing when I started getting paid for it. The way YouTube videos are edited, however, is very different from that of movies or TV shows. With a YouTube video, it's more a brief moment that you won't necessarily think about later.
Charlie Munger called out fraud and delusion in crypto, days after Sam Bankman-Fried's FTX imploded. Warren Buffett's right-hand man said bitcoin and other crypto should never have been legal. He made the incendiary comments in a rare CNBC interview this week, just days after Sam Bankman-Fried's FTX exchange became the latest crypto player to implode. "It's partly fraud and partly delusion — that's a bad combination. I think that's totally crazy.
Jim Cramer on Thursday called on Disney (DIS) to oust CEO Bob Chapek and clean up the company's ugly balance sheet. The state of Puerto Rico's power grid has been a sore spot for many island businesses and residents, leading to backlash against Luma Energy — the company brought in to operate and improve the grid after Hurricane Maria. Many businesses were forced to shut down for weeks after Hurricane Fiona hit. Luma Energy officially took over control of the island's power grid in June 2021 for the Puerto Rico Electric Power Authority, or PREPA. In July, about two months before Hurricane Fiona hit Puerto Rico, hundreds of residents marched to Gov. The company also said Oct. 10 that power had been restored to 99% of clients affected by Hurricane Fiona.
Babies born into Covid-related lockdowns have taken longer to reach certain developmental milestones than babies born pre-pandemic, a study found. The results were based on a questionnaire given to parents of 309 babies in Ireland during the pandemic. In January, researchers at Columbia University found that babies born in New York City from March to December 2020 had less developed motor and social skills by six months than babies born between November 2017 and January 2020. Contrary to the other observed trends, the researchers in Ireland found that 97% of pandemic babies were able to crawl at 1 year compared to 91% of babies born earlier. Her team will continue to observe the same babies to see how their communication skills change by age 2, or perhaps even older.

The source of the tension, whether real or perceived, was Rosenblum's forthcoming debut novel, "Bad Summer People." But it has already sent the tiny town, located off the coast of Long Island, New York, into a tizzy. But everyone DVR'd, everyone watched it, and everyone relished that their little summer town was somehow elevated to prominence." Rosenblum simply took events that punctuated the summer, like the town-wide Bay picnic and the summer tennis tournament, and used them as a backdrop for her fictional drama. "You'll see him on the tennis court, and you'll see her around town, and nothing's going to change," they said.
