A new analysis from Liberty Street Economics finds younger Americans saw their net worths swell. That might be because their new pandemic stimulus let them invest more. Coming into the pandemic, Americans under 40 were holding just under 6% of all US wealth, according to Liberty Street Economics, even as they made up just under 40% of adults. And it was a boon: Americans under 40 — who comprise both Gen Zers old enough to be in the full-time workforce, and almost all millennials — saw their real wealth skyrocket by around 80%. (Reuters) - At least 19 people were killed by forest fires in the coastal tourist city of Vina del Mar and the death toll could rise in the coming hours as rescue teams reach more affected areas, Interior Minister Carolina Toha said on Saturday. Throughout the country there were 92 active fires, leaving more than 43,000 hectares affected by the incident, Interior Minister Toha said. "The area with fires today is much smaller than last year (but) at this time the number of hectares affected is multiplying very rapidly," Toha said. Toha said that the authorities' greatest concern was that some of the active fires were developing very close to urban areas "with the very high potential to affect people, homes and facilities". JOLIET, Ill. (AP) — The funeral for seven of the eight victims killed in Joliet-area shootings last month was held Saturday. The funeral for Christine and William Esters and Tameaka, Joshua, Alexandria, Alonnah and Angel Nance was held at Victory City Church in Joliet. The seven were all related to shooter Romeo Nance, 23, who died of a self-inflicted gunshot wound the next day in Texas when confronted by police. Investigators said they believe Nance first shot seven people at two relatives’ homes in Joliet, then fired randomly at two men — one outside an apartment building and another on a residential street. Marshals found him near Natalia, Texas, about 30 miles (48 kilometers) southwest of San Antonio and more than 1,000 miles (1,690 kilometers) from Joliet, authorities said.
