Lewandowski earned the penalty after a VAR check 11 minutes into the second half when Hector Moreno tugged at his shirt in the box. But the Polish striker, who has never scored at the World Cup, saw his shot saved by goalkeeper Guillermo Ochoa. The tactical change seemed to work initially as Poland began creating chances and eventually won the penalty which Lewandowski shot low but Ochoa guessed correctly and dived to his left to deny the skipper. The result leaves Saudi Arabia as group leaders following their stunning upset of Argentina, one of the pre-tournament favourites, earlier in the day.

MEXICO CITY, Nov 14 (Reuters) - Mexico coach Gerardo Martino named striker Raul Jimenez in his squad travelling to the World Cup in Qatar as he continues his recovery from injury problems. Jimenez, 31, has only played four matches this season for Premier League Wolverhampton Wanderers after sustaining knee and groin injuries. Real Betis midfielder Andres Guardado will lead Mexico in his fifth World Cup after becoming his country's most capped international. Mexico will be without Sevilla forward Jesus Corona due to an ankle injury and youngsters Santiago Gimenez and Diego Lainez did not make the cut. Mexico play Sweden in their last warm-up match on Wednesday before heading to Qatar where they are in Group C along with Poland, Argentina and Saudi Arabia.

BUENOS AIRES, Nov 11 (Reuters) - Argentina's government announced a deal on Friday with supermarkets and suppliers of mass consumer goods to freeze or tightly regulate prices of some 1,500 products, in an attempt to contain inflation that is estimated to reach 100% this year. The Economy Ministry said in a formal decree that a new "Fair Prices" program, covering consumer goods from food and beverages to cleaning products, would help to "stabilize the prices of products in favor of the consumer". The rise in food prices is barbaric, and we are looking at a brutal December," said one protester, Monica Sulle.
