LOS ANGELES (AP) — Tiger Woods returned to the PGA Tour and lasted only 24 holes, withdrawing Friday at the Genesis Invitational after hitting his tee shot on the seventh hole. PGA Tour rules official Mark Dusbabek said on the telecast that Woods had an illness, and that it was not related to his ankle or back. Wood was 1-over par for the round and projected just outside the cut when he asked for a cart and was driven off the course by a rules official. Woods had not played an official event since the Masters last April, withdrawing in the middle of the third round of the rain-delayed major. Woods had said he hoped to play one tournament a month through the major season.

The 15-time major champion was 1-over through six holes before exiting the course on a golf cart during Friday’s second round and 2-over par for the whole tournament. He returned to the tournament scene for The Genesis Invitational, an event he hosts in Southern California. Woods acknowledged he was dealing with back spasms for the final three holes of his opening round on Thursday. The Genesis Invitational continues through Sunday.

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (AP) — Authorities have exhumed the body of the wife of a famed former Tennessee sheriff more than a half-century after she was fatally shot in a still-unsolved killing. The Tennessee Bureau of Investigation confirmed that it oversaw the exhumation of the body of Pauline Pusser on Thursday at Adamsville Cemetery. A TBI statement said the agency received a new tip that led agents to find that there was never an autopsy performed on Pauline Pusser's body. The Pusser car was hit 11 times. Basic income programs including those in Austin and Minneapolis showed that most recipients spend their payments on soaring housing costs. For the first year, the project gave participants either $1,000 monthly, $500 monthly with $6,500 upfront, or $50 each month as a control group. Some of his former coworkers found out he was living in his car, and they helped him find a place and pay rent.

The wave of maturities and the enormous equity shortfalls have raised concerns that a growing number of commercial real estate debts will fall into distress, forcing banks and other lenders to suffer losses. His group tracked about $15 billion of commercial property debt sales during the year, roughly three times the volume from 2022. Commercial real estate loans differ from residential mortgages taken by homeowners in that most are interest-only or pay down their principal balance minimally and span a decade or less.
