But, when it comes to satisfying cravings for ultra-processed snacks, it's up to us as consumers to make informed choices about which ones we choose, she said. CandyJustin's Chocolate Candy Pieces "reign supreme" over other candies, Beckerman said. On Monday, the federal judge overseeing the case will hold a hearing for both parties to present their arguments over the proposed gag order, and tensions between the two sides could quickly rise. Citing Trump’s continued mischaracterization of the FBI’s policy in place around the use of deadly force during the search, prosecutors say Trump’s false claims that he nearly escaped death from federal agents could lead to threats and harassment against them. Trump was in New York when agents searched the Florida estate. “Shortly after the execution of the search warrant at Mar-a-Lago, one of Trump’s supporters carried out an armed attack on an FBI office in the wake of Trump’s Truth Social statements regarding the search,” prosecutors wrote. Trump is welcome to make such comments to his heart’s content — they are simply not the Government’s concern.”

The birth of the American mall ushered in an era of “windowless” shopping that’s largely still here. But the sneakiest reason why malls limit windows could be to make shoppers lose track of time. Windowless shopping creates an environment of consumption without distractions,” Flickinger said. The Southdale mall was functional and drab to look at and that is the blueprint that all traditional enclosed malls have continued to follow. Some of these adaptive uses of traditional malls might be creating a practical need for windows after all, she said.

For example, a call that the S & P 500 would rise 100 points on a positive consumer price index print came true last year. That's true so far, with the S & P 500 jumping 4.8% in May after finishing April down 4.2%. As equities struggled, (the S & P 500 fell almost 20% in 2022), Lee felt like the risk of inflation was being mispriced. Because of that, he foresaw a rebound in 2023, a year that sent the S & P 500 more than 24% higher. "There was a pretty widely-held view that the Fed had to crash the economy in order to contain inflation," Lee said.

New York CNN —Alaska Airlines and its 7,000-member flight attendants union reached a tentative labor deal late Friday, concluding talks that lasted more than a year and a half. In February, flight attendants from Alaska — along with American, United and Southwest —held unprecedented coordinated pickets demanding new contracts. Maller was one of the flight attendants on the Alaska Airlines Flight 1282, which drew international attention on January 5 when a door plug blew off, leaving a gaping hole in the side of the plane. But he said he picketed because the existing contract did not provide a livable wage for too many flight attendants. Maller said he has worked at times as a bartender and that most flight attendants he knows also have second jobs.

How the vodka soda became 'gay water'
  + stars: | 2024-06-22 | by ( Alex Harring | ) www.cnbc.com   time to read: +11 min
The combination of soda water and vodka has long been a fixture of boozy LGBTQ+ life, particularly among gay men. One of those came from Houston-based lawyer Jeff Watters, who called the vodka soda the "gay water" of the nighttime in a post on X. Retail is also central to the business for Gay Water, a startup offering canned cocktail variations of vodka soda. The former's vodka soda citrus is 100 calories per can, while Gay Water contains 80. The Gay Bar Shop, a specialty retailer, sells an 11-ounce, $49 candle that smells like a vodka soda with a lime garnish.
