On Tuesday, "Inside Out 2" surpassed $1.46 billion in global ticket sales, making it the highest-grossing animated feature of all time, usurping another Disney title, "Frozen II." The record-breaking box office for "Inside Out 2" comes after a series of theatrical hits and misses from the company, especially from its animated releases. In particular, Pixar has suffered at the box office in the wake of the Covid-19 pandemic. Of note, Disney does not consider its 2019 "The Lion King" to be an animated feature despite nearly the entire film being computer animated. Otherwise, it would be the highest-grossing animated feature, as it collected more than $1.6 billion during its theatrical run.

CNN —Two lion brothers, including one with an amputated leg, were spotted making a record-breaking night swim through treacherous waters in Uganda’s Queen Elizabeth National Park. Researchers believe that the nearly mile-long (1.6-kilometer) crossing of the crocodile-infested Kazinga Channel is the longest documented swim by lions. They were likely in search of females after losing dangerous fights to another group of male lions — and to avoid humans while doing so, according to the researchers. Big institutional investors can purchase bank loans — which lending institutions make to companies — and benefit from the loans' floating coupon rate. Bank loans and CLOs tend to have less price sensitivity to changes in rates, meaning they are short duration. In my 20 years of covering presidential campaigns as a journalist, there have been just two political conventions where the presidential nominees, their teams, the delegates and the party spent all four days radiating the confidence of a winner. The first was the Democrats’ in 2008 with Barack Obama — I’ll never forget how everyone I spoke with was certain of victory in November. The second one was the Republicans’ this week in Milwaukee, where Trump supporter after Trump supporter calmly, clearly insisted that Donald Trump would win this November. Don’t get me wrong: Many of the convention speakers spewed grievances to tear down Joe Biden and Kamala Harris, and there was a certain fraudulence to the whole event — with Republicans lying about their war on abortion rights by censoring any talk of it, and misleading the audience about the economy, immigration, crime and more. But the tone and tenor of the convention were ecstatic about Trump, who was portrayed and praised as a man who survived an assassination attempt by the grace of God and emerged as a “lion” (a word used multiple times this week).
