Un sequoia din statul american California continuă să ardă lent şi în prezent, după incendiul de vegetație din vara anului 2020, a anunţat Parcul Naţional Redwood. „Oameni de ştiinţă şi pompieri de la Serviciul Parcurilor Naţionale studiau recent efectele 'Castle Fire' din 2020 asupra parcului naţional cu sequoia când au observat un sequoia uriaş care încă ardea şi fumega”, a transmis parcul într-un comunicat. Potrivit experţilor citați de Agerpres, acestea sunt consecinţele incendiului forestier care a fost declanşat de fulgere la data de 19 august 2020 şi s-a răspândit în toată regiunea.
