London CNN —A former opposition lawmaker in Britain’s House of Commons has alleged that the UK’s domestic spy agency MI5 may have issued a rare alert notice in 2022 about an alleged Chinese agent as a distraction from the so-called Partygate scandal, according to testimony before a tribunal looking into the alert. The Christine Lee & So Solicitors office on Wardour Street, London, on January 13, 2022. He was the chairman of the now-disbanded Chinese in Britain All-Party Parliamentary Group, on which Lee sat. The UK has since introduced a foreign agents registration act, which is expected to come into force later this year. In a statement to CNN in 2022, Gardiner said he had not benefited personally from Lee’s donations in any way, adding that the money had been properly reported and its source verified.

But this weekend, Hammer resurfaced on a YouTube show to talk about addiction and his stint in rehab, amongst other things. During the podcast, Hammer spoke about a time in 2021 when he was mired in scandal, during which several women accused him of sexually assaulting them . "And I just swam out really fucking far, and I thought, 'you know what, like I'm — I'm done, like there's nothing back there for me,'" Hammer said. During the podcast, Hammer also addressed — and once again denied — rumors that he is a cannibal. A lawyer associated with Hammer did not immediately respond to a request for comment from Business Insider sent outside regular working hours.

George Norcross, who for decades had been a Democratic political kingmaker in New Jersey, was charged with racketeering in an indictment unsealed Monday. Norcross's brother, Phillip Norcross, and four other defendants also were charged in the 13-count, 111-page indictment filed by New Jersey Attorney General Matthew Platkin. George Norcross, a 68-year-old insurance executive and former member of the Democratic National Committee, was chair of the board of trustes of Cooper University Health Care and chair of Conner Strong & Buckelew. Now a resident of Florida, George Norcross was in attendance at a press conference Platkin gave on the charges Monday in Trenton. CNBC has requested comment on the indictment from George Norcross' lawyer, Michael Critchley.

Marian is among a group of mixed-race children whose mothers say they were conceived after rape by British soldiers training in Kenya. Mixed-race children continue to be born in the remote villages where the British Army trains its soldiers in Kenya. One of the more contentious accusations against British soldiers involves the case of Agnes Wanjiru. Allegations of rape and other crimes, including murder, by British soldiers deployed there date back to the 1950s. The UK investigators did not conduct DNA tests on any of the 69 mixed-race children alleged to have been born from rape by British soldiers.
