Budd Friedman , founder of The Improv comedy club franchise that launched some of the biggest careers in Hollywood, died Saturday in Los Angeles. He was 90 years old. Mr. Friedman was a Broadway producer in 1963 when he and his then-fiancee opened a coffee house for entertainers in New York that became The Improv.
