Anthony Scaramucci, founder and managing partner of SkyBridge Capital, a global alternative investment firm, predicted that if Harris were to win the election, her handling of crypto regulation would largely be the same as Trump. That list includes Vertiv , GE Vernova, Trane and Eaton , which Jim Cramer described as "all very clear winners" of the increased spending on the fast-growing technology. GE Vernova, for example, creates power solutions to help data centers operate in a more environmentally friendly and sustainable way. That's because data centers require an immense amount of electricity usage to run properly, and that need is expected to intensify as more facilities are built. "That's almost a pure play on the data center," Cramer said of GE Vernova, describing shares as "one of the great horses of the year." It's a similar story for Trane, Vertiv and Eaton, which all sell products that service data centers.

The Federal Reserve is widely expected to start cutting interest rates Wednesday afternoon. Those yields are expected to start coming down sharply as the Fed begins to ease back on generationally high rates. Adding some duration Duration refers to a bond's price sensitivity to changes in interest rates. A bond yield moves inversely to its price, so that when bond prices rise, yields decline. Though investors in the space may be concerned about prepayment risk, especially as interest rates come down and homeowners look to refinance, Cetera says that worry may already be priced in.

One of the main takeaways was that the biggest threats to dollar dominance are swelling US debt levels and fiscal deficits, which officials in Washington could step up to tackle. "The biggest challenge to US dollar dominance is the US itself given the mounting public debt levels and elevated fiscal deficits," JPMorgan said, in a note summarizing the webinar. For instance, many alarmists have focused on the dollar's share in foreign reserve holdings, often pointing out that the foreign central banks have piled into gold as an alternative. But this fixation omits the fact that bank deposits, sovereign wealth fund assets, and other dollar instruments have been on the rise among reserve holdings, JPMorgan said. "In China's case, it has had an explicit target to bring down dollar holdings in FX reserve but has shifted USD holdings to state-owned entities.

It's September – and that means it's prime time to think about maximizing after-tax returns as the year winds down. Of course, there may be a price to pay for that performance: Uncle Sam will want his share of taxes. Here are a few steps that could help you hold onto more of your portfolio's returns this year. Munis spin out income that's free of federal taxes, and they may be exempt from state levies if the investor resides in the issuing state. By directly giving low basis highly appreciated stock (instead of selling the position and donating cash proceeds), you avoid incurring the capital gains tax.

Even with recent rotation away from megacap tech stocks, there may still be a case for investing in thematic tech exchange-traded funds. Roundhill Investments runs the Roundhill Generative AI & Technology ETF (CHAT), which is up 13.8% year to date as of Friday's market close. But despite recent volatility in the group, the firm's CEO Dave Mazza thinks the investment thesis is still intact. Pointing to some of CHAT's under-the-radar artificial intelligence plays, Mazza waived off concerns that thematic ETFs may be too narrow in scope. "There are companies like Dell in the portfolio and others, ServiceNow and Salesforce , who are using AI and integrating AI," he said.

Lower interest rates may impact your investment portfolio following the Fed's first rate cut. "They get spooked by something like policy changes and sell out of a diversified investment portfolio. "Generally, lower interest rates boost the economy as lending gets cheaper for consumers and businesses, " says Eckles. However, as interest rates fall, the attractiveness of these cash investments declines. The inverse relationship between bond prices and interest rates means that as rates fall, bond prices rise, providing another return component.

Top bosses at Berkshire Hathaway are usually tight-lipped about their market outlook, but recent investment actions from the executives are saying a lot. News broke earlier this week that Ajit Jain, the conglomerate's insurance chief for nearly 40 years, sold more than half of his Berkshire stake worth $139 million. That marked the biggest sale of Berkshire stock by the 73-year-old vice chairman of insurance operations since he was hired by Warren Buffett in 1986. He believes it would be "value-destroying" if he overpaid for Berkshire shares. But the magnitude of the sales could also suggest a bearish attitude toward the market and stock valuations.
