Biden administration officials have discussed potentially negotiating a unilateral deal with Hamas to secure the release of five Americans being held hostage in Gaza if current cease-fire talks involving Israel fail, according to two current senior U.S. officials and two former senior U.S. officials. The Biden administration has said it believes Hamas is holding five American hostages who were abducted during the Oct. 7 terrorist attack on Israel. Fighters from the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) plundered the facility on Saturday stealing an ambulance among other supplies, the aid agency said. “On Saturday, MSF and the Ministry of Health suspended all activities in South Hospital, El Fasher, North Darfur, after RSF soldiers stormed the facility, opened fire, and looted it, including stealing an MSF ambulance,” MSF Sudan said on social media Saturday. As a result, patients are being moved to Paediatric and Saudi hospitals “which were unprepared for such an influx,” it added. Security Council on Monday adopted a U.S.-backed cease-fire plan for the Gaza Strip after Russia opted not to block it, adding extra heft to a growing international push for an end to the fighting. In 2023, the Department of Commerce determined that Chinese solar was making its way into the US duty-free, despite tariffs on imports from the country. But this gave way to a flood of cheap imports, causing solar prices to crater last year. Meanwhile, solar shipments from Southeast Asian producers have not slowed, and accounted for 87.5% of US module imports in the first quarter, S&P Global said. The tariffs could eventually bring upside for US producers, and Carr indicates that a 25%-30% price correction for solar modules could materialize.
