Lulu Conner, the younger sister of Steffens’ husband Bobby Conner, died July 24 at the age of 26, Steffens said. Steffens, captain of the U.S. women’s water polo team, posted a tribute to Lulu Conner on Instagram on Saturday, sharing three photos that captured the essence of her late sister-in-law. Steffens noted that at the time they could not “wait to be sisters.”The second photo captured Steffens with Lulu Conner and her bridesmaids. While it remains unclear how Lulu Conner died, Steffens described her sister-in-law’s death as “a medical emergency.”“She was so excited for the Olympic Games,” Steffens told the AP. Budinger is a professional beach volleyball player these days, and alongside Team USA partner Miles Evans, is hoping for a deep run at the Games in Paris. Drafted by the Detroit Piston in 2009, he went on to play more than 400 NBA games with Houston Rockets, Minnesota Timberwolves, Indiana Pacers, and Phoenix Suns. A brief stint in Spain followed, after which Budinger decided to leave basketball and return to beach volleyball, making his professional debut in 2018. But he also draws on his experience of playing in the NBA when he’s out on the beach volleyball court, particularly when it comes to dealing with pressure.

Paris CNN —Days before taking part in the Paris Olympics, Tom Daley already felt like he had won a gold medal, such was his joy at having his kids at the competition with him. On Monday, the British diver got his hands on an actual medal, too, winning silver alongside partner Noah Williams in the men’s synchronized 10-meter platform. That marked the fourth medal of Daley’s long Olympic career, dating all the way back to the Beijing Games in 2008 when he competed as a fresh-faced 14-year-old. “It’s the happiest I’ve been in diving in all these years because diving wasn’t necessarily my top priority,” he told reporters. The silver medal adds to the gold and two bronzes that Daley already owns, but the 30-year-old has many titles besides Olympic medal winner.
