CNN —Researchers at the University of Dundee have recreated the face of Bonnie Prince Charlie as he appeared when leading the unsuccessful 18th century Jacobite rebellion as he sought to reclaim the British throne for his father. In the image, Bonnie Prince Charlie appears with blonde curly hair, wide eyes and acne on his skin, revealing a different side to the more conventionally heroic figure he has traditionally been depicted as. I did want to show a different angle with that.”The image was created using death masks of the prince, which were photographed and mapped. Using state-of-the-art software, 3D models were then produced, allowing researchers to “de-age” the prince, the university added. The telescope’s capabilities allow it to peer through an otherwise obscuring nebula, filled with gas and dust, that surrounds the stars. The Webb image also showcases a variety of stars and galaxies around and behind the nebula. The two stars will ultimately finish forming over millions of years, and the brilliantly hued features in the Webb image will diminish as the binary star pair brightens. About two dozen bronze statues from the third century BC to the first century AD, extracted from the ruins of an ancient spa, will go on display in Rome's Quirinale Palace from June 22, after months of restoration. When the discovery was announced in November, experts called it the biggest collection of ancient bronze statues ever found in Italy and hailed it as a breakthrough that would "rewrite history". The statues were found in 2021 and 2022 in the hilltop village of San Casciano dei Bagni, still home to popular thermal baths, where archaeologists had long suspected ancient ruins could be discovered. How did you tell the story of Queen Charlotte’s character development through her costumes? There was a Met Ball about 10 years ago based on the work of the designer Charles James, who I’m obsessed with. Queen Charlotte’s elaborate wigs, and the depiction of her hair as a Black monarch, have been praised since the first season of “Bridgerton.” Tell me about the decision for young Charlotte to wear her natural hair. The original sketches that we did for Queen Charlotte, before any of the casting process was done, had her with big, natural, curly hair. She had said, “Do you think we can do this?” So she and Shonda spoke and decided to do it.
