CNN —Former President Donald Trump is the closest thing in modern political history to an incumbent who doesn’t hold the office. But these considerable advantages also raise questions about his general election chances given his inability to completely win over Republican primary voters. Despite effectively clinching the Republican nomination with a near-sweep of Super Tuesday states, Trump couldn’t escape the shadow cast by former South Carolina Gov. Haley dropped out Wednesday after consistently winning 30% or so of the GOP primary vote in the states she competed in. Undoubtedly some of the Republican voters who backed Haley in the primaries and caucuses will return to the Trump fold in November, maybe even a majority.

But department stores, focused on America’s middle class, are fading. The victims of shifting consumer tastes were not the department stores that anchored the local mall, it was the small, locally owned stores along downtown shopping districts that were closing their doors. And possibly even more than the big box competitors, department stores have suffered from consumers shifting to buying items online rather than in person. The steady closing of the department stores that once served as “anchors” of malls across suburban America has been another nail in the coffin of many malls, hurting the department stores that remained in hollowed-out malls with a fraction of their earlier traffic. Saunders said one of the primary problem for Macy’s is that its holding company, formerly known as Federated Department Stores, spent much of its resources on buying other department store brands, such May’s Department Stores, and Filene’s, rather than investing in the stores its held.

Out of the countless memorable movie roles John Goodman has had over his career, there's one where he feels he blew it. In Martin Scorsese's slow-burn 1999 drama "Bringing Out the Dead," Goodman and Nicolas Cage play paramedics working the night shift in New York City. "I was in a bad place," Goodman told Business Insider in his interview for our "Role Play" series. Goodman wouldn't go into specifics other than to say that he was "in a bad place mentally." The tagged imagery is fed into the AI model to train it. “It took us about a month to get it to the right point,” said Cyril Foiret, founder and creative director of Maison Meta. The company told CNBC exclusively that its new advanced AI model, Decision Intelligence Pro, will allow banks to better assess suspicious transactions on its network in real-time and determine whether they're legitimate or not. Ajay Bhalla, Mastercard's president of cyber and intelligence business unit, told CNBC that the new AI solution is a proprietary recurrent neural network — a core part of generative AI — from Mastercard built from scratch by the company's cybersecurity and anti-fraud teams. "We are using the transformer models which basically help get the power of generative AI," Bhalla told CNBC in an exclusive interview earlier this week. Mastercard's proprietary algorithm is trained on data from the roughly 125 billion transactions that go through the company's card network annually.

Kazakhstan also produces 43% of the world's uranium supply, the largest slice of the global market for the heavy metal. Around 60 nuclear power reactors are under construction in 17 countries and another 110 are in the planning stages. Citibank expects uranium prices to average $110 per pound in 2025.
