SAO PAULO, Aug 21 (Reuters) - Latin American corporate card provider Clara has launched cross-border transactions, the company announced on Monday, expecting to move up to $100 million by the end of the year. Through the service, clients can now pay bills in major foreign currencies, Clara said in a statement. Earlier this month, Clara announced it was moving its headquarters from Mexico to Brazil, betting on the South American country becoming its largest market by 2024. Half of the company's leadership is already based in Brazil, Clara said on Monday. The conservative politician and his former chief of staff, Bernhard Bonelli, are accused of giving false testimony before the Ibiza committee of inquiry in the Austrian parliament "regarding the alleged corruptibility of his government," the office said in a statement. Kurz left office in 2021 after prosecutors placed him and nine others under investigation on suspicion of breach of trust, corruption and bribery with various levels of involvement. REUTERS/Willy KurniawanTANGERANG, Indonesia, Aug 10 (Reuters) - Indonesia said on Thursday it would give automakers two more years to qualify for electric vehicle incentives in Southeast Asia's largest auto market, a move followed by investment commitments by China's Neta EV brand and Mitsubishi Motors. The moves announced at the Jakarta auto show come as Indonesia races Thailand and India to build out an EV industry as an alternative to China, the world’s largest producer. Indonesia is Southeast Asia’s largest auto market and its second-largest production hub behind Thailand. Until now, only two manufacturers have shifted enough production to Indonesia to qualify for full incentives: Wuling Motors (0305.HK) and Hyundai (005380.KS).

The no-confidence vote, moved by a new, Congress-led opposition alliance called "INDIA", was easily defeated as expected, with opposition lawmakers walking out of the legislature in protest even before the motion was put to vote. "They love to defame India, they have no faith in the people of India, in the abilities of India," Modi said in his 130-minute speech which was laced with nationalism and rhetorical flourishes. "They have tried in vain to break the self-confidence of Indians with this no-confidence vote," he said, speaking in Hindi. BJP lawmakers thumped their desks in approval and often cheered him by shouting "Modi, Modi". Opposition lawmakers frequently shouted "Manipur, Manipur" as Modi spoke on Thursday, seeking to get him to talk about it.

Chinese banks are estimated to have issued 800 billion yuan ($110.98 billion) in net new yuan loans last month, down sharply from 3.05 trillion yuan in June, according to the median estimate in the survey of 29 economists. But the expected new loans would be higher than the 679 billion yuan issued in the same month a year earlier. Chinese banks doled out 15.73 trillion yuan in new loans in the first six months of this year, the highest first-half number on record, central bank data showed. Outstanding yuan loans were expected to grow by 11.3% in July from a year earlier, the same as in June, the poll showed. In July, TSF is expected to fall sharply to 1.10 trillion yuan from 4.22 trillion yuan in June.
