Shein, the fast fashion giant with links to China, has confidentially filed for a public listing in London as it faces backlash in the U.S., a person familiar with the matter told CNBC. Elected officials in the U.S. have repeatedly expressed concerns about the use of forced labor in Shein's supply chain and its use of a U.S. tax law exemption known as de minimis. Shein would still prefer to go public in the U.S., sources previously told CNBC, and its filing in London doesn't mean that an IPO will happen there. It's unclear if Beijing has signed off on the London listing. Shein's London filing marks another twist in the company's so-far long road to a public markets debut.

If dishwasher loading were an Olympic sport, I'd be on my way to Paris this summer. We've had our dishwasher for almost 2 decadesThis year will mark my family's 19th year in our New Jersey home. There's no scraping and then depositing directly into the dishwasher with spaghetti sauce or other stray blobs of food over here. This is where Olympic competitors in my imaginary dishwasher loading event will put their spatial awareness skills to the ultimate test. Sure enough, the next day began a historic ascent of Apple stock, an in-your-face rally that many thought made no sense. There's a coalescence of two themes, high speed, accelerated computing and increasingly intelligent AI, and neither works without Nvidia chips. I know that it seems impossible to ponder Nvidia's stock going any higher or passing Apple and Microsoft and staying ahead of it. Ask yourself, does any company match Jensen and Nvidia right now? I say let others be baffled over the Apple versus Microsoft versus Nvidia conundrum.

Chinese carmakers accounted for 88% of the EV market in Brazil and 70% in Thailand in Q1, according to ABI Research figures. The EV markets in many of these countries are small now, but they're growing rapidly. This is because Chinese automakers are known for their ability to build electric cars for less than their foreign competitors. Australian Senator and shadow cyber-security minister James Paterson said earlier this year that Chinese EVs pose a growing cybersecurity risk. "India is still a little wary of the Chinese market," said Dylan Khoo, an analyst at ABI Research.
