Korean Air has announced that from August 15, it will no longer serve ramyeon instant noodles to passengers traveling in economy class on long-haul flights. “In the case of ramyeon service, burn accidents occur frequently due to hot water,” the airline said in a press release. Korean Air said that the move was “part of a proactive measure” that is “aimed at preventing burn accidents.”“To enhance passenger satisfaction and diversify snack options, a self-service snack bar is also available on long-haul flights. Port-au-Prince, Haiti CNN —Security forces protecting Haiti’s leader provided covering fire as he left a hospital in Port-au-Prince after an interview with CNN, in a stark illustration of the violence that continues to plague the gang-ravaged nation. Conille initially proceeded with the interview and did not remark on the gunfire — which is not an unusual thing to hear in Port-au-Prince. No one was injured and the prime minister was safely returned to his office. CNN Travel spoke to TIME senior editor Emma Barker about some of the trends they’ve seen emerging this year. Barker points to “these sort of otherworldly art and design places” like Aranya, China. “Those kinds of places that result in stunning photography are really popular,” she says. CNN —With his retirement fast approaching, Jim Dolan, from the US, felt as though his future was more or less mapped out. “I was not ready to leave the United States at that point,” Jim Dolan explains. “I feel safer here in Thailand than I think in any of the cities that I lived in the United States. “I think she had a bigger challenge moving to the United States than I had coming here,” he says. “But overall, I think we’re much better off here than we would have been in the United States had we stayed there.”
