The Sarajevo Film Festival, which was founded towards the end of the Bosnian war by a group of film enthusiasts, has become southeastern Europe's largest such event, showcasing 235 films this year. The U.S. government has identified three American citizens held in Iran — Siamak Namazi, Emad Shargi and Morad Tahbaz. NBC News first reported on the prisoner exchange negotiations in February. The families of the Americans held in Iran say their loved ones are "hostages" taken captive on false charges and used as bargaining chips by the government. CNN —Four Americans who have been wrongfully detained in Iran have been released from prison and are now under house arrest, a lawyer for one of the prisoners told CNN on Thursday, a sign that they may soon be freed from years of imprisonment. “The move by Iran of the American hostages from Evin Prison to an expected house arrest is an important development,” said Jared Genser, pro bono counsel to Siamak Namazi, one of those released. The Biden administration has been engaged in negotiations to try to secure their release from Iran, a country with which it does not have diplomatic relations. Genser strongly cautioned against being overly optimistic about freedom for the Americans until they are actually out of Iran. Improve abortion access at any gestational age when maternal life is at risk. Educate high-risk women of all ages on long-term, reversible contraception (especially IUDs). Make it easier to credential or re-credential older, retired professionals (physicians, nurse midwives) across state lines to assist with the shortage of medical practitioners. Nutrition or health classes are often part of school curriculums; educate, screen and treat at younger ages for hypertension and other medical conditions.

Kurt Cobain's smashed Fender Stratocaster guitar sold at auction for $595,900, more than 10 times its original estimate. The Nirvana frontman's iconic left-handed electric guitar was smashed while the grunge pioneers were making their seminal Nevermind album in the early 1990s. Reassembled but unplayable, it was expected to sell for between $60,000 and $80,000 at the Julien's auction at the Hard Rock Cafe in New York over the weekend. According to Julien's Auctions, Cobain gave the guitar to Lanegan during Nirvana's Nevermind tour in 1992. The guitar Cobain played during a legendary live acoustic concert on MTV Unplugged in 1993, just five months before his death, was sold two years ago for $6 million.
