Nvidia was one of the most overbought names on Wall Street this week as the artificial intelligence darling crossed the $3 trillion market cap threshold. The RSI, which measures the magnitude and speed of price moves, is a popular metric used to evaluate whether shares are overbought or oversold. On the other hand, names such as Nvidia with a 14-day RSI above 70 are thought of as overbought, indicating a possible selling opportunity. Nvidia shares have climbed more than 8% this week alone, eclipsing the $3 trillion market cap mark to become the second-most valuable U.S. company, behind Microsoft . Well-known stocks including T-Mobile , Walmart and Best Buy were also among the most overbought this week.

Cuban started the practice after selling his first company, a software firm called MicroSolutions, for $6 million to CompuServe in 1990. He took 20% of the total sale price, he tells CNBC Make It, and paid it out to 80 employees — which would equate to $15,000 per staffer, if distributed equally. "It was f---ed up," Cuban told Barstool Sports' "Pardon My Take" podcast in 2020. The business bounced back, and Cuban sold MicroSolutions five years later, making him a millionaire. "It was all about fun," Cuban told "The Draymond Green Show" podcast, in an April episode.

Some stocks have forward earnings momentum that investors don't want to overlook, according to Liberum. He noted that companies with this momentum outperformed counterparts by 0.2% over the past month. Earnings momentum can be a good sign for a company as it tends to align with growth in revenue, improving margins or cost reductions, or some combination of these factors. Klement noted that earnings per share momentum has a "very chequered past" in the U.S. market. This also comes as the broader market has traded near all-time highs , forcing traders to look harder for individual stocks that have more room to run.

CNN —The US military’s temporary pier off the coast of Gaza was repaired and reattached to the beach on Friday morning, after breaking apart and sustaining damage in heavy seas last week, the deputy commander of US Central Command said on Friday. “I’m very pleased to announce that earlier this morning, in Gaza, US forces successfully attached the temporary pier to the Gaza beach. Israeli Defense Force engineers provided all the necessary support to ensure the safe emplacement of the pier to the beach,” Vice Adm. Brad Cooper told reporters on Friday. The damage last week came after significant obstacles on distribution routes including Hamas drones and looting that delayed the deliveries. The pier’s construction came as the humanitarian situation in Gaza deteriorates and the death toll from Israel’s bombardment climbs.

Narendra Modi’s India
  + stars: | 2024-06-06 | by ( Alex Travelli | ) www.nytimes.com   time to read: +1 min
Despite having led India for a decade, Modi has in some ways kept his country guessing about his vision. On major issues — India’s relationships, its economy, its society and its government — it’s still unclear what sort of country Modi wants India to be. India has spent recent years deepening its relationship with the United States. It has gotten closer to American allies, including Japan and Australia, and ordered high-end American weapons systems — the kind that create dependence down the road. After Russia invaded Ukraine, the United States tried in vain to persuade India to take a stand against the war.

If you want to see into the future of car making, the Formula One rulebook has often been a good place to start. But the sport's new regulations suggest that car makers are not pinning all their hopes on electrification. In 2026, F1 cars will be powered by hybrid engines with a 50:50 split between electric-power and internal combustion; crucially, the combustion engine will be powered by synthetic e-fuels. Another is Audi, which left Formula E in 2021 to join F1 in 2026, the same year that the German automotive company will stop producing new combustion engine cars and only release electric vehicles. One of the products Audi is ramping up is synthetic e-fuels, which use renewably-generated electricity to break water into hydrogen and oxygen before combining them with carbon dioxide.

India and Pakistan will take on each other in the Men’s T20 World Cup. But I soon realized that one of the unexpected pleasures of cricket in America was seeing the sport bloom between the cracks. Through their eyes, the New York cricket world continued to bloom in front of me. I discovered weekend leagues, a high school league and peculiarly, the NYPD Youth Cricket League — the subject of my upcoming feature documentary. This year there’s a second competition, the National Cricket League, headquartered in Dallas, home to a large South Asian community.

For the current quarter, Five Below said it expects between $830 million and $850 million in revenue, while analysts polled by LSEG expected $883 million. The move was made earlier this week and comes just days after the company reported its first revenue miss since 2006. Lululemon issued weak guidance for the current quarter, but its full-year earnings per share guidance was above expectations. The company recorded earnings of $2.66 per share, which is better than the LSEG consensus estimate of $2.33 in earnings per share. The bank cited its earnings per share potential and discounted valuation as reasons for the call.

CNN —Right-wing conspiracy theorist Alex Jones on Thursday moved to liquidate his personal assets, agreeing to demands from the families of Sandy Hook victims whom he owes more than $1.5 billion in damages over his lies about the 2012 school massacre. Jones technically has not controlled the Infowars business for some time, given that Free Speech Systems has also filed for bankruptcy protection. A hearing is scheduled for next Friday to determine the fate of Free Speech Systems’ bankruptcy. But regardless of what happens in that case, Thursday’s legal move sets the stage for a court-appointed trustee to liquidate Jones’ personal assets, which includes his stake in Infowars. The liquidation of Jones’ assets does not mean that Infowars will cease to exist.

Read previewAmericans are on their way to work — and they probably still have a long way to go. New research first reported by The Wall Street Journal shows that more workers are supercommuting, meaning they're traveling more than 75 miles each way for work. Some trips, they found, are as long as five hours each way, with some starting their commutes at 3 a.m. New York City experienced an 89% surge in supercommuting, from 1.9% to 3.6% of all trips. Phoenix, Arizona — a city that's seen a surge of new residents in recent years and, as a result, soaring housing costs — has also seen supercommuting increase by 57%.

CNN —French soccer superstar Kylian Mbappé said that there were “things and people that made me unhappy” during his final season at Paris Saint-Germain, in his first comments since his blockbuster move to Real Madrid. Mbappé was speaking at a media conference on Tuesday ahead of France’s friendly against Luxembourg and stressed that his long-expected move to Madrid was a “relief,” while also adding that his final season in Paris was filled with mixed emotions. While saying in general that he was happy in his final season, he went to detail one aspect that did make him unhappy. It's likely to further appreciate due to a lack of progress in narrowing the deficit, Tentarelli said. Historically, gold prices have been inversely correlated with real bond yields, meaning when yields decline, gold should rally further. "Even if there's no rate cuts, I like gold based on the macro of deficit spending," the Merrill Lynch alum said. Novak Djokovic out of French Open with knee injury
  + stars: | 2024-06-04 | by ( Matthew Futterman | ) www.nytimes.com   time to read: +4 min
World No 1 Novak Djokovic has withdrawn from the French Open with a knee injury sustained in his round of 16 win against Argentine 23rd seed Francisco Cerundolo. Although Djokovic was able to get through on painkillers and adrenaline, the extent of the problem is too great for him to continue. If Djokovic chooses to undergo surgery on the tear, he would likely miss not just Wimbledon, which begins on July 1, but also the Olympic Games and US Open later this summer. Djokovic said Monday night, after another of his miraculous comebacks, that he had been experiencing pain in his right knee for several weeks. As of Tuesday evening in Paris, there was no decision yet on whether Djokovic would undergo surgery to repair the meniscus.

Investors looking to India yearn for political stability and many have done especially well during the first 10 years of Mr. Modi’s pro-business leadership. Even after Tuesday’s decline, the blue-chip Nifty 50 index has nearly tripled since Mr. Modi became prime minister. But the Indian market’s main indexes have entered choppier waters on the way to the election. Some companies, namely those considered “Modi stocks,” fared especially poorly as the election result came into view. Gautam Adani rapidly became Asia’s richest man, as his infrastructure-oriented businesses worked in harmony with Mr. Modi’s plans for the country.
