CNN —Cristiano Ronaldo has come under scrutiny for a gesture he made towards fans following Al-Nassr’s 3-2 win against Al-Shabab in the Saudi Pro League on Sunday. In footage from the match, fans can be heard taunting Ronaldo by chanting about Lionel Messi, a long-time rival of the 39-year-old forward. The gesture is now being investigated by the Saudi Arabian Football Federation (SAFF), according to Saudi-owned media outlet Asharq Al Awsat, which cited unnamed sources. CNN has contacted Ronaldo’s representatives, the SAFF, Al-Nassr and Al-Shabab for further comment. It was Al-Nassr, however, which would have the final say as Talisca’s second goal deep into the match completed a 3-2 victory in an exciting encounter.

Their flagship Marsico Focus Fund (MFOCX) has climbed 16% so far in 2024, through Thursday, outperforming both the S & P 500 and technology-heavy Nasdaq Composite . Between 60% and 75% of the portfolio is in "core" growth companies, or those that are likely to see sustained and predictable earnings growth. The balance is in companies undergoing large transformations that can catalyze earnings growth once a restructuring is complete. "When money was very cheap and interest rates were extremely low, it was easy to buy an index fund," Marsico said. But Musk has already made some big decisions, including a declaration of a war on the state of Delaware. "Never incorporate your company in the state of Delaware" Musk posted on X shortly after the decision. "Put simply, neither the Compensation Committee nor the Board acted in the best interests of the Company when negotiating Musk's compensation plan. There are also 23 augmented reality cameras that both CBS and Nickelodeon will use. CNN —Russian President Vladimir Putin has ordered the country’s military to increase its number of troops by 170,000, as Moscow’s war in Ukraine enters its 22nd month. The increase would take the overall number of Russian military personnel to more than 2.2 million, including 1.32 million troops, according to the decree published by the Kremlin Friday. In August 2022, Putin ordered an increase of 137,000 troops by January 1, 2023, which put the military’s staffing at just over 2 million personnel, including 1.15 million troops. In September 2022, Russian Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu said 5,937 troops had been killed in the war. Putin’s latest decree comes as Russia’s war in Ukraine is set to enter its second winter, with both sides suffering heavy losses without making significant gains on the battlefield.

Opinion | Is South Korea Disappearing?
  + stars: | 2023-12-02 | by ( Ross Douthat | ) www.nytimes.com   time to read: +1 min
For some time now, South Korea has been a striking case study in the depopulation problem that hangs over the developed world. Almost all rich countries have seen their birthrates settle below replacement level, but usually that means somewhere in the neighborhood of 1.5 children per woman. For instance in 2021 the United States stood at 1.7, France at 1.8, Italy at 1.3 and Canada at 1.4. It’s worth unpacking what that means. Run the experiment through a second generational turnover, and your original 200-person population falls below 25.
