Spotify Wrapped day is one of the most exciting holidays of the year. AdvertisementAh, Spotify Wrapped. Advertisement"Everyone complaining about getting Provo in their spotify wrapped needs to just accept the fact that they have terrible taste in music," said one commentator. "going to college in Davis and waking up seeing everyone bashing it because they got it on their spotify wrapped is so funny," said another X user. Other people theorized that the frequency of college towns being picked was due to the generally lower age range of Spotify users.

People first started noticing the trend on social media — when everyone started posting their Spotify Wrapped, as is tradition — and thought it was a glitch on Spotify's end. But it turns out that Burlington is just representative of the listening habits of a disproportionately high number of Spotify users. Advertisement"Did Your Spotify Wrapped Place You In Burlington, Berkeley, or Cambridge? You May Be Gay," Queer outlet Them wrote, referencing how queer Spotify users seemed to be getting overwhelmingly assigned to Burlington, Berkeley, or Cambridge. Berkeley was the Sound Town for 0.3% of all Spotify users, while 0.1% of users were assigned to Cambridge, Spotify told BI.

Senate Democrats are discussing the possibility of attaching conditions to future Israel military aid amid humanitarian concerns in Gaza resulting from the country’s aggressive prosecution of its war against Hamas. “I do think that Israel needs to be more careful in the way it is conducting these operations,” Murphy added. Sen. John Fetterman of Pennsylvania told reporters he doesn’t support restrictions, saying that Hamas has to be “eliminated,” necessitating that there be no conditions on military aid to Israel. Senate Republicans were likewise largely opposed to conditions on aid to Israel, like Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell, who called the idea “ridiculous.”“Our relationship with Israel is the closest national security relationship we have with any country in the world,” McConnell said. “We all support Israel.

Sen. Jeff Merkley became the second senator to call for a cease-fire in the Israel-Hamas war this week. And with recent polling showing that a majority of Americans support a cease-fire in Gaza, the pressure from constituents has been thick. Sen. 62, you should consider it a concession to the political realities of the moment:A government founded on principles more consonant to the wishes of the larger States, is not likely to be obtained from the smaller States. The most populous states — including not only California, but New York, Illinois, Florida and Texas — tend to be the most diverse states, with a large proportion of nonwhite residents. The smallest states by population — like Maine, Vermont and New Hampshire — tend to be the least diverse. And the structure of the Senate tends to amplify the power of residents in smaller states and weaken the power of those in larger states. The second and more important problem is that the modern Senate isn’t the one the framers designed in 1787.

“Climate change is affecting every aspect of our lives,” Hayhoe told CNN. Here are five significant takeaways from the federal government’s sweeping climate report. Climate change doesn’t cause things like hurricanes or wildfires, but it can make them more intense or more frequent. And hotter and drier conditions from climate change can help vegetation and trees become tinderboxes, turning wildfires into megafires that spin out of control. But it’s not happening nearly fast enough to stabilize the planet’s warming or meet the United States’ international climate commitments, the report explains.

Airlines for America says Nov. 26 will be a record-setting air travel day with 3.2 million passengers. The case of IrvineWhen the city of Irvine took on short-term rentals in 2018, Airbnb seemed unstoppable. Its tentacles had spread to cities across the globe, converting entire neighborhood blocks, in the most dramatic cases, to short-term rentals. Plenty of cities had passed ordinances banning short-term rentals, only to see Airbnb listings continue to pop up. That's consistent with data on short-term rentals in Irvine, which showed that by January 2021, the number of listings in Irvine had halved. As the Berlin and Boston studies found, when houses or apartments are pulled off the long-term market to be used as short-term rentals, housing supply decreases.
