On February 3, a Norfolk Southern train derailment released toxic chemicals in the community of East Palestine, Ohio. JPMorgan estimated Norfolk Southern will face costs related to the train derailment of as much as $50 million. Despite the efforts, investors have grown concerned about the potential costs Norfolk Southern will face in lawsuits and clean-up actions.
