Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu faced growing challenges to power on Sunday as thousands gathered outside Parliament to call for early elections in what were shaping up to be one of the largest demonstrations against the government in Israel since the start of the war in the Gaza Strip. Some protesters carried signs calling for Mr. Netanyahu’s “immediate removal.” Others wielded posters calling for elections, saying “those who destroyed can’t be the ones to fix.”The protest came a day after thousands took to the streets of Tel Aviv, waving flags and carrying pictures of the Israeli hostages with signs reading “Hostage deal now.”

Windsor, England CNN —King Charles III has made his most significant outing since his cancer diagnosis last month, attending the traditional Easter Mattins church service in Windsor on Sunday. Typically, the extended royal family gathers for Easter at Windsor Castle before heading to church together. A notable absence from Sunday’s Easter festivities were the Prince and Princess of Wales and their three children. Easter had initially been suggested by Kensington Palace as the period when she would resume duties following her operation. Prince William is expected to resume public engagements in mid-April once Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis have restarted school.

A Hamas official however told Reuters the group would wait to hear from Cairo mediators on the outcome of their talks with Israel first. Hamas has sought to parlay any deal into an end to the fighting and withdrawal of Israeli forces. Israel has ruled this out, saying it would eventually resume efforts to dismantle the governance and military capabilities of Hamas. The Israeli military said forces operating in Al Shifa killed three armed Hamas commanders inside two buildings of the medical facility. Hamas and medical staffers deny any armed presence inside medical facilities, accusing Israel of killing and arresting civilians.

The cargo ship Dali sits in the water after running into and collapsing the Francis Scott Key Bridge on March 26, 2024 in Baltimore, Maryland. Engineers in Maryland on Saturday began lifting a piece of Francis Scott Key Bridge out of the waterway in Baltimore, the first step in a long process to reopen the city's shipping port. "I cannot stress enough how important today and the first movement of this bridge and the wreckage is," said Gov. To execute the first lift of the bridge on Saturday, engineers cut a piece of the bridge to make it manageable for their crane. "Our economy depends on the Port of Baltimore and the Port of Baltimore depends on vessel traffic."

CNN —It could take weeks for the Port of Baltimore to reopen as an arduous cleanup process to clear the massive wreckage from this week’s catastrophic bridge collapse begins, leaving commuters and workers in limbo and supply chains in disarray, officials said. More than 1,000 engineers in Baltimore and across the country are studying the wreckage piece-by-piece to figure out the best plan to remove it. To help with this massive task, more heavy equipment is expected at the scene in the coming weeks. The port is the largest in the US for cars and light trucks, handling a record 850,000 vehicles last year, Moore said. “Our economy depends on the Port of Baltimore and the Port of Baltimore depends on vessel traffic,” Moore said Friday.

Remote jobs are getting harder to come by. As of December 2023, remote jobs made up less than 10% of postings advertised on LinkedIn, down from a high of 20.6% in March 2022 — even though close to half of jobseekers prefer remote roles. To examine where remote hiring is happening the most for high-paying jobs, FlexJobs identified the top 10 occupations with the highest number of remote job openings on their site between January and March 2024 that pay more than $100,000. The top industries offering ample remote work opportunities with six-figure salaries include tech, marketing and project management, per FlexJobs data provided to CNBC Make It. With that in mind, here are some in-demand, high-paying remote jobs that can earn you a salary of $100,000 or more, according to data from FlexJobs and Payscale:1.

The Chesapeake 1000 – the largest crane on the East Coast – is needed in the Patapsco River where a 984-foot cargo vessel slammed into the bridge Tuesday. Live updates: The latest on the Baltimore bridge collapseIn addition to the crane, three heavy lift vessels are expected to start arriving Friday, US Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg told CNN. This appraisal is critical in determining how small to cut the bridge pieces so cranes can lift them, he said. In addition to the human toll, the destruction of the Key Bridge and closure of the Port of Baltimore could lead to widespread economic fallout. In this NTSB handout, an investigator examines the collapsed Francis Scott Key Bridge from the cargo vessel Dali on March 27 in Baltimore.

Salaries for fully in-office roles are climbing in the United States. As of March 2024, hybrid roles pay $59,992 on average, in 2023, that number was $54,034, ZipRecruiter reports. Remote jobs now pay $75,327, but in 2023, they paid an average $69,107. Given how competitive the job market has been in recent months — especially for remote roles — Bui says it's a "fair trade-off." It's too soon to tell if higher salaries will be enough to convince people to choose an in-office job over a remote offer.

"As it is negotiated today, it is a very bad deal, for you and for us," Macron told businessmen in Sao Paulo while on a three-day trip to Latin America's largest economy, amid troubled talks over a free trade deal between the two economic blocs. "There is nothing that takes into consideration the subject of biodiversity and climate; nothing," Macron said. "Let's forge a new deal in light of our goals and reality, a trade deal that is responsible on development, climate and biodiversity." "It's true we lost an opportunity at the end of last year, but we should not give up on this deal." At upcoming G20 and COP summits in Brazil, Macron said he planned to push for more international standards to financially incentivize banks, firms and investors to decarbonize industrial processes and better preserve the environment.

Experts told Business Insider that the port alone contributes $15 million in daily economic activity, which will come to a near standstill "until further notice." While some cargo will have to wait, container ships can largely be rerouted to other east coast locations. Ryan Peterson, the CEO of global logistics firm Flexport, told Business Insider that 800 containers of his were destined for Baltimore, and are now being rerouted. And it's unclear whether East Coast ports will have enough available capacity to absorb Baltimore's container volume, Petersen said. A risk for Baltimore will be whether those route changes are temporary, or if they'll have a lasting impact on the port's business.

These proteins cause the walls of a person’s blood vessels to keep growing and thicken over time. As the blood vessels narrow, the heart is forced to work harder to pump blood to the lungs. Treatment with a combination of drugs that dilate, or relax, blood vessels can improve this outlook, but they are not a cure. Both groups were also taking the standard medications for the condition, which help relax blood vessels to improve blood flow. But Galiatsatos said that as promising as the drug looks, there are still many unknowns, including whether the drug will benefit all PAH patients equally.

Courtesy of Maya WaldHere are the six most common mistakes I've noticed during interviews, and what you can do to avoid them. As a hiring manager, encountering candidates who haven't taken the time to understand the organization's mission and goals is not only disheartening but painfully obvious. As a hiring manager, I don't need an hourlong explanation of every role and project you've been a part of. As a hiring manager, encountering candidates who have no questions, or only surface-level questions, can signal a lack of genuine interest or preparation. As a hiring manager, I pay close attention to these cues to gauge a candidate's professionalism and demeanor.

Millions of older adults who are behind on their student loans could soon receive a smaller Social Security benefit. "When borrowers are in collections, on average their Social Security benefits are estimated to be reduced by $2,500 annually," the lawmakers wrote on March 19. "This can be a devastating blow to those who rely on Social Security as their primary source of income." Social Security recipients can see up to 15% of their benefit reduced to pay back their defaulted student debt, which "can push beneficiaries closer to — or even into — poverty," the lawmakers wrote. The government's collection practices with student loan borrowers, including the garnishment of wages and Social Security benefits, is an area under review, a source familiar with its plans told CNBC.
