But Zuckerberg, with some newfound swagger and a new T-shirt he designed, kicked things off by saying he was done apologizing, TechCrunch reported. "And my guess is if the IPO was a year-and-a-half mistake, I think that the political miscalculation was a 20-year mistake." "Still not my best thing, but getting a bit more comfortable just being me as I get older." As the Facebook cofounder enters his 40s and reflects on his decades at the helm of Facebook, one thing is increasingly clear: Zuckerberg is in his unapologetic era.

New York CNN —The Republican nominee for president went on live TV and presented an unhinged, debunked Facebook rumor as fact. Scrolling on Facebook or X, it’s hard not to see some of that chaos creeping into the mainstream. Just a few weeks ago, the former president posted an AI-generated image on his Truth Social platform that suggested Taylor Swift had endorsed him. Of course, it was a fake image — the same kind of obvious AI slop that has overrun Facebook and X. Either Trump didn’t know the image was fake, or he didn’t mind lying to his followers and perpetuating the fake endorsement.

Standing near them was another figure whose sway with the Republican nominee also cannot be discounted: the far-right provocateur Laura Loomer. Her anti-Muslim social media posts eventually earned her a ban from Twitter that lasted until billionaire Elon Musk bought the website, now known as X, and restored her account. She knows his personal number and has utilized it, one source familiar with the relationship told CNN. When Trump landed in Philadelphia on Tuesday before his debate against Harris, Loomer was among the close allies seen deboarding his private plane. “Let’s have a good debate,” Harris said.
