Still, the nattily attired Blanc is not only a detective dandy, he’s a dandy detective, and “Glass Onion: A Knives Out Mystery” is breezy holiday entertainment. All of them accept the offer to be guests at the lavish Greek island property of a jovial billionaire, Miles Bron ( Edward Norton ). We learn that he used to hang out with all of them at a tavern called the Glass Onion before he launched the tech business that made his fortune. Now he’s doing well enough to have built himself an enormous mansion topped by a palatial structure shaped like a glass onion. He boasts to his old friends that, unknown to his insurers, he has installed an override button that removes the protective glass housing around the masterpiece.
"The first objective has been achieved," French coach Didier Deschamps said of their qualification in a post-match TV interview. France take on Tunisia and Denmark meet Socceroos in the final round on Wednesday, with the Danes needing a win to advance. Having lost twice to Denmark during the recent Nations League campaign, France started cautiously. But it was not long before they realised there were opportunities to be had by taking on the Danish wing backs. The French will face one of the teams from Group C - Poland, Saudi Arabia, Mexico or Argentina - in the last 16.

When the United States' national men's team faces England at the Qatar World Cup later on Friday, one thing will be missing: medieval knights. Soccer’s governing body FIFA has told English soccer fans to ditch imitation chain mail, shields and swords or miss the game, according to the Times of London. England fans have worn similar outfits at previous tournaments while watching other sports. Press photos and social media footage show that England fans wearing Crusader gear were allowed into the stadium to watch their team's match against Iran. "As soon as you know anything about crusading history, you know it would produce a reaction like this in the Islamic world," he said.
I never thought I'd be a stay-at-home parent but the pull to be with my first daughter was strong. But these past few years as a stay-at-home parent have been some of the most rewarding and fulfilling of my life. As I transitioned to full-time, stay-at-home parenting, I did some financial coaching and started a podcast on the side. I was hoping to be able to continue writing and work part-time at a local high school. I'm sure that if I were working a full-time job I wouldn't be able to pursue these side projects.
CNN —Two late goals secured Iran a sensational 2-0 win against Wales to maintain its hopes of qualifying for the World Cup knockout stages. Clive Brunskill/Getty ImagesAfter the heavy 6-2 defeat by England, Iran played much better in its second match. Both benchmarks plunged more than 3% on Wednesday on news the planned price cap on Russian oil could be above the current market level. "If the EU agree to an oil price cap of $65‑$70/bbl this week, we see downside risks to our oil price forecast of $95/bbl this quarter," Dhar said. Commonwealth Bank's forecast assumed EU sanctions accompanied by a price cap on Russian oil would disrupt enough supply to offset ongoing global growth concerns, he said. Some Indian and Chinese refiners are paying prices below the proposed price cap level for Urals crude, traders said. EU governments will resume talks on the price cap on Thursday or Friday, according to EU diplomats.
Deals for European football clubs this year, beginning with the sanctions-driven sale of Chelsea Football Club by Russian oligarch Roman Abramovich in May, have fetched top dollar. Those complaints were aired again this month by superstar player Cristiano Ronaldo, who parted ways with Manchester United for the second time. Spokespeople for the six members of the Glazer family that are major Manchester United shareholders could not be reached for comment. More deals are in the works, with Manchester United arch rival Liverpool Football Club also exploring a sale. In August, Elon Musk tweeted: "I'm buying Manchester United ur welcome" only to then clarify he meant it as a joke.

"We continue to be on high alert and will aggressively remove any violative content," TikTok, which is owned by the China-based firm ByteDance, said in a statement. One of the alliances hoping to form a government is a conservative, largely ethnic Malay, Muslim group led by former prime minister Muhyiddin Yassin. SULTANS TO MEETReuters reviewed about 100 videos on TikTok, some of which featured people displaying weapons such as knives and machetes. Russia has been a big cause of corporate losses since it invaded Ukraine, prompting companies to cut ties. At International Paper Co., however, Russia remains a major source of cash and an important contributor to the dividend that draws investors to its shares. Companies were filing out of Russia in March when IP said it would explore options, including a sale, for its 50% stake in Ilim Group, a pulp and paper giant with government license to log swaths of Siberia and the western taiga that add up to about the size of South Carolina.
Organizations including the American Petroleum Institute (API), Renewable Fuels Association and the National Farmers Union wrote to congressional leaders to urge them to adopt legislation that would effectively lift restrictions on E15 sales. API's support is a win for the biofuel and farm groups because the oil industry has at times resisted efforts to expand the market for ethanol. The governors' proposal raised oil industry concerns about fuel regulations differing from state to state. Expanding national sales of E15 would also resolve long-standing differences among the groups about the fuel regulations, the letter said. BERLIN, Nov 21 (Reuters) - One of Germany's main industry lobby groups called on Monday for more support for industry to diversify trade beyond China, as the government prepares new policies aimed at reducing the German economy's dependence on Beijing. Planned measures such as stress tests and greater scrutiny on investments in China, outlined in a draft document seen by Reuters, would be an administrative burden for businesses, the Association of German Chambers of Industry and Commerce (DIHK) said. "Everything we have heard so far about the German government's China strategy is extremely defensive," said Volker Treier, head of foreign trade at DIHK. "We need an active and resilient industrial policy and strategy in Europe with regards to raw materials, batteries or semiconductors." I've been laid off four times in a row during my tech career. Every job I've gotten post-layoff has been due to a colleague or acquaintance referring me. Figure out your dream jobUse the time after a layoff to figure out what you really want out of a job. Growing up means being left out sometimes, especially when friends splinter into new social groups during middle school and teen years. With group chats and social media, kids can more easily see when they’re not part of the crowd. Exclusion can result in hurt feelings, even when there’s no malicious intent behind it. But educators, pediatricians and researchers say online exclusion can be overt, particularly in group texts or chats on whatever platform teens use to communicate and make plans, be it Apple’s iMessage, Snapchat , Instagram—even Zoom.

Photographer: Dimas Ardian/Bloomberg via Getty ImagesThe funds raised by public listings in Southeast Asia fell by 52% this year compared to a year ago, data from Deloitte showed. Initial public offering (IPO) funds raised by companies in the region reached $6.3 billion from the January to Nov. 11 period, the management consulting company said. The findings also revealed that only eight large and medium-sized companies listed in 2022, less than half of the 19 large- and medium-sized companies that were listed in 2021. IPO activity in Southeast Asia was lower this year, with only two blockbuster IPOs — Indonesia's GoTo which raised $1.1 billion and Thai Life Insurance with $1 billion raised. This could mean that the bigger companies are holding out and postponing their listings in anticipation of better market conditions, Deloitte said.
