The Direxion Daily NVDA Bull 1.5x Shares ETF (NVDU.O) seeks to deliver 1.5 times the price return of daily moves in Nvidia’s shares, which have more than tripled year-to-date. Meanwhile, the Direxion Daily NVDD Bear 1x Shares ETF allows bearish investors to profit when Nvidia’s shares decline. Single-stock ETFs made their debut in 2022, but only a handful of products have since been introduced by five firms, including Direxion. Because of their increased exposure, investors’ losses in leveraged exchange traded products can be staggering, analysts said. Only four leveraged single-stock ETFs currently have more than $50 million, according to Morningstar.

Federal Reserve officials focus more on core as it provides a better indication of where inflation is heading over the long term. Inflation posted its biggest monthly increase this year in August as consumers faced higher prices on energy and a variety of other items. Food prices rose 0.2% while shelter costs, which make up about one-third of the CPI weighting, climbed 0.3%. Within shelter, the rent of primary residence index rose 0.5% and increased 7.8% from a year ago.

One explosive claim is that Musk thwarted a surprise Ukrainian attack on Crimea. Allowing the use of Starlink for the attack, he concluded, could be a disaster for the world. He now says that the policy had been implemented earlier, but the Ukrainians did not know it, and that night he simply reaffirmed the policy," Isaacson said. This is especially true when it comes to aspects of life where parents sometimes feel they should have an outsized say, such as who their child is dating. What a person wants in their romantic partner and what their parents believe they should want in a romantic partner are often different. Let's say, for example, you're unhappy in your relationship, but your parents really like your partner and have vocalized that breaking up with them would be a mistake. You don't have to bash your partner or even become combative with your parents. "It requires self-reflection and reflection on who your parents are," Bryant says.

The pay change did not apply to any existing employees. Walmart’s starting pay ranges from $14 to $19 depending on the store and local market. Walmart said it made the change so its starting pay was consistent across store jobs, whether workers were cashiers, shelf stockers or helped with online orders. “Consistent starting pay results in consistent staffing and better customer service,” a Walmart spokesperson said in a statement. While Walmart reduced pay for future hires, it increased the pay scale for some existing employees.

He was the US Special Envoy for Syria and the senior director for Iran, Iraq, Syria and Lebanon on the National Security Council staff during the Trump administration. After that, China’s National Bureau of Statistics said it would suspend publishing youth unemployment data in the future. What does it signify that China’s national power, which today is vast, is almost certain to be weaker in the future? If Xi and his strategists have a feasible plan for nimbly averting China’s demographic doom, they are keeping very quiet about it. This brings us back to the question of national security strategies for the United States and its allies.

TOKYO, Sept 7 (Reuters) - The niece of Johnny Kitagawa, the late J-pop magnate at the centre of a sexual abuse scandal that has shocked Japan, said on Thursday that she had stepped down as the head of the talent agency her uncle had founded. As more Japanese media took up the story, lawmakers voiced outrage, while the United Nations' human rights experts also criticised the talent agency for its handling of the allegations. At a press conference televised live by most broadcasters, Kitagawa's niece Julie K. Fujishima said she had stepped down as president on Tuesday. Noriyuki Higashiyama, a former member of the popular 1980s boy-band Shonentai, was the new head of the agency, Fujishima said. But the scandal blew up this year as more victims came forward after the BBC's report, leading to demands for stricter laws to prevent child abuse and a formal apology from the agency.

CNN —The head of Japan’s top pop agency Johnny & Associates stepped down Thursday after admitting that her uncle, the company’s late founder, had sexually abused minors for years, following months of international scrutiny and an independent investigation. Julie K Fujishima, the niece of Johnny Kitagawa, announced her resignation in a news conference Thursday, saying the company would compensate the victims of her uncle’s abuse, according to public broadcaster NHK. It was the first time the agency has addressed the media about the scandal, according to NHK. He alleged that over the course of four years, beginning in 2012 when he was 15, he was repeatedly sexually assaulted by Kitagawa. In 1999, a Japanese magazine published accounts of other young men and boys who claimed they were sexually abused by Kitagawa.

Russia keeps jamming Ukraine's drones and it's making their operators get closer to danger. That's forced Ukraine to shuffle its drone operators, such as first-person-view (FPV) pilots, closer to avoid jamming and counter Russia's own drone operators. In the early months after Russia's full-scale invasion, drone operators could pilot miles from the front, which kept them safer from conflict. Drone operators, who have received extensive training, are indispensable for their side — and high-value targets for enemies. Some of these relatively cheaper drones can have an outsized impact, with some FPV drones taking out high-cost, high-value targets such as Russian T-90 tanks.

CNN —In an urgent appeal to wealthy Republicans who had assembled in Milwaukee ahead of the first GOP presidential primary debate, top brass for the super PAC backing Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis told donors they needed an injection of $50 million over the next four months, according to leaked audio obtained by CNN. The tension spilled into the open just days before the Milwaukee event, when the super PAC released a memo with debate pointers for DeSantis. The pitch appeared structured to convince donors the super PAC had a plan for their dollars if they would open up their pocketbooks. Many Republican strategists and campaign veterans have questioned the arrangement between DeSantis’ campaign and the super PAC, pointing to the limitations of running a political operation from the outside.
