The National Transportation Safety Board has concluded an investigation into a fatal Tesla crash that occurred in Spring, Texas in 2021. The federal vehicle safety watchdog found no evidence the company's driver assistance system, which is marketed as Tesla Autopilot, was in use at the time of the crash. The crash initially drew widespread attention after a local constable said nobody was behind the wheel at the time of the crash. The NTSB relied on data from Tesla, a sample vehicle and versions of software provided by Tesla, to conduct part of its investigation. If the Tesla had been equipped with systems like this, the NTSB said, the trip and fatal crash may have been prevented.

CNN —CSX Transportation announced Tuesday that it had reached a deal with two railroad unions regarding paid sick leave. It also allows members to use up to three personal leave days for sick leave, the two unions said. Eight unions voted to accept the tentative agreement negotiated by the Biden administration with no paid sick leave, while four voted it down. The unions asked for ten paid sick days initially — whittling down their ask to four. The three other major freight railroads — Union Pacific, BNSF and Norfolk Southern — do not currently have paid sick leave in place.

Feb 1 (Reuters) - North American pipeline operator TC Energy Corp (TRP.TO) on Wednesday raised its cost estimate more than expected for completing its troubled Coastal GasLink project, sending share prices sharply lower. The company attributed the cost increase to a labor shortage, poor work by contractors and adverse weather. TC is looking to sell C$5 billion worth of assets this year to raise funds to repay debt and pay for projects including Coastal. TC Energy raised its overall 2023 capital expenditure outlook to C$11.5 billion-C$12 billion from C$9.5 billion earlier, partly due to Coastal's higher costs. An impairment will be recognized to TC Energy's equity investment in Coastal in its fourth-quarter results scheduled for Feb. 14, the company said.
