CNN —A US District Judge has blocked an Arkansas social media age verification law that was set to go in effect Friday, according to a Thursday court filing. The act was aimed at requiring “age verification for use of social media; and to clarify liability for failure to perform age verification for use of social media and illegal retention of data,” according to Governor Sarah Huckabee Sanders’ office. It’s believed this would have been the first law in the US requiring age verification from new social media users, and to require parental consent, to go into effect. “We’re pleased the court sided with the First Amendment and stopped Arkansas’ unconstitutional law from censoring free speech online and undermining the privacy of Arkansans, their families and their businesses as our case proceeds,” Marchese said in the statement. Brooks said the act is blocked “pending final disposition of the issues on the merits.”CNN reached out to Huckabee Sanders’ office for comment.

There are no federal regulations protecting workers in extreme heat. Biden announced plans to protect workers last week with more enforcement of heat-safety violations. "I urge the administration to move quickly to create this national heat standard to protect workers on the job. Last year, business groups sued Oregon over extreme heat worker protection rules, arguing the state overstepped its statutory authority in requiring employers to pay workers during breaks. However, some experts believe that investments to protect workers, such as rearranging shifts or changing uniform colors, pay off since workers can be more productive in the longer run.

Some on Wall Street are getting increasingly bullish on the S & P 500 , raising their price targets for the index. It increased its year-end S & P 500 price target from 4,400 to 4,900 — the highest in CNBC's Market Strategist survey . Mid-cap tech stocks : Ball said "mid tech is the equity place for tomorrow." Big tech stocks have contributed to much of the gains this year — although the rally is broadening out — but other well established "but not gigantic" tech stocks have "more premise looking ahead." Energy stocks: The S & P 500 energy subsector has underperformed this year, gaining just 1% to date.

China views the U.S. in the Pacific as a threat, ramping up its own military presence in response. "Unfortunately, the Pentagon has grown complacent using 1940s-era energetics and neglected advanced energetics like CL-20 that are necessary to increasing the range and lethality of our force. In the last decade, when explosive weapons were used in populated areas, 90% of those reported killed or injured globally were civilians." The House version does not name any weapons, but Bob Kavetsky with the Energetics Technology Center said candidates for the new chemicals include the Lockheed Martin-made (LMT.N) long range anti-ship missiles and extended range air-to-surface missiles. "We believe that many more Gino-authored papers contain fake data," the Data Colada professors wrote. Data Colada found that the raw data showed clear anomalies, such as a distribution infinitely more likely to be produced by a random-number generator than actual people. Soon after, Data Colada ran an article alleging that Gino tampered with data in at least one of her honesty-pledge experiments. A post on Data Colada or a tweet from Brown is like a bomb going off in the behavioral-science world. Others who attempted to build on Gino's studies are grappling with having wasted time, money, and energy.
